The transition from 100% apathy to now looking forward to the season is pretty cool. Something to be excited about! \:D/

Yeah - this turned around my attitude very quickly.

I can't stop reading about Fields/the Bears today. This is the most excited I've been about sports in awhile outside of college basketball.

Yeah, I'm back and I'm all in now. I think I'm going to order a Fields jersey.

will he wear #1?

Sounds like it. The site says they won't ship out until his number is confirmed, but they all show #1.

Nagy & Pace are both on the hot seat

Are they?

Nagy should be

There's definitely a scenario where Nagy goes and Pace stays (opposite probably not possible). How Nagy manages the QB situation, win/loss record, how the offense looks in general once Fields gets in there, will all play a factor.

Byron Leftwich is interesting if they move on from Nagy. I think his style of offense plays into Fields' strengths.

I kind of want one, but also think their main uniform number looks dopey with just 1 as a single digit. So I kind of want to wait for them to put up one of the throwbacks on the site.

I would have thought no way a day ago, but yes, I could see the possibility. I guess if the offense is just complete trash this year but the defense keeps them alive enough to win some games there could be a scenario where they think Pace did his job but Nagy has to be replaced.

I Highly doubt it though

I went with an orange. I can switch to a throwback if that ends up looking better.

Nagy needs to gameplan around Fields' strengths, not try to cram Fields into the "Nagy system". Trubisky mostly sucked, but Nagy certainly didn't utilize Mitch to his best abilities

I just ordered mine. I agree about their jersey #1 looks weird but horsefeathers it. It says ships week of July 5th though, maybe I will cancel if their throwback looks better

FO doesn’t love the Jenkins pick as much as most

Teven Jenkins, T/G, Oklahoma State

Jenkins is a massive dad-bod right tackle who rose up draft boards after a strong pro day performance. He's an ornery finisher who pushes defenders around when he latches on. Unfortunately, he's also a lunger who can get caught off balance and has a backpedal that may be too slow for the NFL, necessitating a move inside to guard.

Jenkins also dealt with lower back issues in 2020, which is a troubling development for an athlete who doesn't carry his weight like a CGI superhero.

Jenkins' pro day may have revealed untapped athletic potential. But Jenkins was a three-year starter for Okie State, making it a little hard to project any sudden development. I fear he will max out as a Phil Loadholt type who is just good enough to get by as a starter for a few years.

This is not a terrible selection, which counts for something when we are evaluating Ryan Pace.

Grade: C+
