Cycle out the complete horsefeathers like Brothers for someone else and see if there’s someone like Megill who can be a thing. Sadler/Tepera/Ryan/Wick/Jeffress and 1 of Q/Chatwood/Mills once Q is back is probably a good enough, even though frustrating, core to get the job done.

In low leverage spots like this you try your high upside guys to see if they're a thing. Maples and Winkler each 100% need to be a part of this game. If Kimbrel is recovered from Monday he does too, if not you probably give Norwood his last chance to make a good impression.

No. Wick, Ryan and probably some combo of Tepera/Jeffress/Sadler/random guy is better than those 5.

I wonder if Theo was taking a wait and see approach to the pen, hoping that a few arms would emerge either on the team or in the minors. If not, they could either play the waiver wire or trade market. Plan is kind of shot because I don’t think a lot of impact arms will be available at the deadline so improvement has to come from within

That definitely was the plan and over 162 things probably would’ve been sorted out with a few arms internally and 1-3 acquired arms that a solid pen is formed. In 60 games/not having a full spring, it’s tough and basically impossible to go with that plan unless a few guys just catch heaters.
