Almora is having a good spring.

I hope the guys in charge aren’t falling for it and he’s still relegated to a bench role with just occasional starts. He hit .377/.389/.604 in spring last year and .318/.324/.636 in 2017.

I like the swing adjustments too, looks like he is another Best Shape of His Life guy ...More redemption than revenge maybe, I'm more comfortable with the CF mix than the MIF mix right now

he's still garbage

when he is actually being pitched to he'll continue to swing at pitcher's pitches and make weak contact for outs.

Meh, still think he's never fit the roster better especially in a more flexible role than starting CF. Slaps McGee was plenty useful when there was a starting CF in front of him, and I'm not overly worried about Happ ending up the starter there. Let him BABIP a pretty line in a lower usage first half season and then send him to the Tigers for Joe Jimenez finally

I recognize all the individual words. I'm just having trouble seeing how they connect to each other.

Is this irony?

Apparently Jeffress hit 95 a few times today, if he’s back to that kinda velo on his FB I’m expecting him to be really solid this year out of the pen.

I haven't followed this too closely, but is it possible the Sloan park gun is just hot? Feels like an inordinate amount of cheery velocity readings for March 2nd. If not then yay, behold the power of the pitch lab

Yeah, no idea. Hendricks was only 87-88 today, Lester has been high 80s mostly too. So those seem in line with early spring velo for them.

hendricks was sitting 87-88 which i guess doesn't necessarily confirm anything either way

He gave up some hits but I liked what I saw from Tyson Miller. That cutter (or just natural run on his FB) seems like it’s a solid pitch. If he can tunnel something off it (change, curve, sinker, slider at a lower speed than cutter) you can see a path to him being useful in some capacity at the MLB level.

Mills was solid tonight, 6IP 0H so far in spring. Adam and Sadler both looked good out of the pen. Hernan Perez got hit on the hand/wrist and had to leave the game (hopefully nothing major because I want him on the team over Descalso).

The first inning box score is a lot uglier than what actually happened with Q. Schwarbs flat out dropped a fly ball on the second batter of the game and the third batter hit a long fly ball that got Happ all turned around and he dropped. Should’ve been a 1, 2, 3 inning.

*Spring Training*

But Souza 1-1 with 3BB and a 2B today. OPS over 1.000 for spring. Considering he’s working back from such a devastating injury and missed a whole year +/- he doesn’t look washed or physically beat or anything.
