Some really good games this year. I'm rooting for Ohio State over Wisconsin (puke) because it increases Penn State's odds of getting a Rose Bowl invite

My rooting interest is Georgia over LSU because it would send a B1G team to the Orange Bowl and therefore would send ND to the Citrus rather than the Camping World.

I hope the Gator Bowl is UK vs. IU.

That's my hope as well. I'd also love to see IU against a big named, former powerhouse program like Florida State, Tennessee, USC, or A&M.

CBS has IU in Yankee Stadium vs Pitt and UK vs. Iowa State in the Liberty. ESPN has 2 separate projectors, one person each picks them in the Gator, but not against each other.

Utah lost guess they're out, if Baylor beats OU and UGA beats LSU, do think the committee will find a way to get Alabama back in? It's probably irrational on my part but, I feel there's a built in bias towards Alabama, they'll look for and find a way to add Alabama.

If Georgia wins there will be 2 SEC teams in the playoffs but the second will be LSU.

Baylor is utterly hopeless without Brewer. It's a bummer because their defense is doing a pretty good job.

I think Orr is going to be out for concussion and it really can’t be overstated what a loss that is for the Badgers.

Wisconsin lost to Illinois. They don’t deserve a playoff bid.

And each team will have beaten the other once with Wisconsin having one additional loss (see above).

So, if Wisconsin manages to win this game, do they get in over OSU? 538 has the Badgers as a slight favorite to do that, which seems mildly weird to me.

Ohio State is in unless they get absolutely crushed and even then maybe they are. The discussion that's interesting if Wisconsin wins, especially by a decent margin, is Wisconsin vs Oklahoma.

I don’t think Wisconsin would get in over OSU. After all OSU did beat them earlier this year, has played a harder schedule (I think), lost one less game, didn’t lose to Illinois, and overall has played significantly better with both metrics and the eye test.

I do think they’d have a shot to finish over Oklahoma although that would cause quite the drama to have a 2 loss conference champion over a 1 loss. But Oklahoma has not looked all that impressive from what I’ve seen this season and I don’t think they are one of the 4 best teams this year

Yeah I don’t think there’s a scenario where Wisconsin gets OSU’s spot.

But anyway it’s not like OSU was ever out of this game, and they looked awesome right there.

Yeah, all clearly true, which is why I was puzzled by the 538 odds.

It’s crazy how easy Clemson’s schedule was this year. Just looking at the Sagarin rankings (not sure how good this metric is) and Michigan played 5 opponents this year that were ranked higher than Clemson’s best opponent.

Michigan:

-Ohio State (1)

-Wisconsin (7)

-Penn State (11)

-Notre Dame (14)

-Iowa (16)

Clemson:

-Texas A&M (17)

Note: I am NOT implying that Michigan is better, on par or even slightly worse than Clemson. I was just looking at their schedule and when I saw how bad it was, compared it to Michigan since I’m a UM fan.

Clemson would have probably made the playoff in another conference but damn do they have it easy in the ACC

All true. But at least the fact that they’ve shown up in the playoffs/championship games and performed well gives them the benefit of the doubt. I’m sure they’ll give LSU a great championship game this year too.
