Just win, because the Cardinals will too

A night game after a day game, gave Joe plenty of time to get his drink on. Will be fun to see what kind of lineup he creates with that much time and booze to drink.

One of my favorite sailors(Mariners) of all time Quint

Is Ben Zobrist the best choice for lead off hitter? No.

Is Ben Zobrist a better choice than Jason Heyward? Well, probably, but not for sure.

Is it weird that Zobrist was with the team all weekend, yet Maddon refused to play him, but now he throws him out at the top of the order? Yes, very.

Are we hopefully done with Jason Heyward, terrible leadoff hitter? I horsefeathering hope so.

This lineup horsefeathers, get well soon Javy and we’re gonna wreck horsefeathers.

Yup. If Javy was in there, it's the very bestest lineup we can put out. If it doesn't score a good amount of runs, there is nothing else to do for this season.

Zo had to be the link between Rizzo and Javy, so we could have 2 straight weeks of players being active yet unavailable on the roster.

Zobrist only had visitation rights last weekend

horsefeathers it, he took some swings this weekend his right leg/foot spun out from him and he didn’t look stable.

We'll never have a healthy team again I guess.

And the streak continues.

I'm not sure why we are excited about a guy who hasn't seen ml pitching in 4 months but ok. I fully expect Zo's performance tonight to be only a smidge above a dumpster fire.

Kyle Schwarber. World Series.

Not saying he’ll do great, but he can handle it.

Bryant claims the injury happened July 3rd in Cincy, way to avoid using the 10 day IL once again you horsefeathering idiots.

July 3rd the Cubs were in Pittsburgh.

Correction, I misread the tweet. He hurt it in Cincy prior to that but July 3 in Pittsburgh it was finally bad enough to sit. If he was IL’d on the 3rd for only 10 days he would have only missed 5 games, he could have been IL’d for 2+ weeks and only missed 8-10 games because of the ASG falling a few days after the 3rd.

Seems like pretty optimal use of the IL in that scenario to make sure your best player gets over something “minor” that he has admitted this knee thing has happened to him before and took a few days of rest to get over it. Especially when we have a bunch of evidence the last few years of the Cubs letting a minor thing turn in to a lingering thing because they don’t 10 day IL guys and there’s really no excuse in this case because of the timing with the ASG they could’ve been safe with it and it doesn’t cost them KB missing a ton of games.

By all means, let him show what he can do, especially with KB and Baez banged up. But I don't see why he can't show us from like..the 7th or 8th spot.

Two years in a row with reduced offensive production and lowered run differential in the second half of the season. Is the narrative about "second half Cubs" being exposed, or just small sample noise? All I can say is that I'm no longer so certain that the way the FO handles the roster and the way Maddon dishes out playing time is so bullet-proof as previously thought (by me and other fans I know IRL at least).

Well now we know he’s hitting the sauce too

Bryant hurt seems to be the common denominator
