When has Maddon ever accepted blame for something that went wrong? Maybe he has and I'm just terrible at remembering. It's always an excuse, fans are too stupid to get it, or others circle the wagons in his defense.

Strop has been a dumpster fire this season. If he does his job, Harper never bats. And Holland does need to come into the game.

He has completely stopped throwing fastballs

it's kind of funny how they've avoided the booing all season by doing all their awfulness on the road. it's going to be so ugly if/when they start doing this at home.

Strop gave up a couple grounders that literally every guy who can play 2B on this team except Happ probably gets to. Hard time blaming him too much. Bote's error swung the game.

Is it just me or has everytime Joe is criticized for pulling a starter early we find out that there was some circumstance that weren’t aware of.

Forgive me if I don't believe that the guy with *checks box score again* 0 walks in the game was losing his command.

Setting aside the Darvish conversation, Ryan and Wick are your two best relievers. It sucks, but you have to know that's the reality. Pulling Ryan after three batters got you into the mess in the first place with having to make Wick go more than one inning. Wick in the 9th got a fly out, and three ground balls that all probably should have been outs. He threw 22 pitches total. He wasn't struggling. Let him finish.

And if we're going to go to 2019 Pedro Strop there, why does David Phelps exist.

Darvish needed to pitch the 8th and Wick the 9th

Strop looks to be finished. He cant throw all sliders and cutters that have a 1 or 2 mph differential and be successful. If his fastball is toast, so is he, IMO. Really sad but he tends to not be at his best when the season is winding down.

I'm still struggling being up 5-1 and getting the first guy of the inning out, only to watch our shortstop horsefeathers up and start the downfall.

It was somewhat like Game 6 all over again or something. I know it's baseball and this stuff will occasionally happen, but you can't lose that game. You just can't.

Don’t forget another HBP.
