It feels like the center of gravity of this team is losing. Like, all things being equal, this team wants to loses they can do all these crazy come backs but that doesn’t matter, the status quo is losing. Gravity is pulling them to losses. It doesn’t matter if the team is bad, they’re losing.

Stop losing

I’m probably being overly negative but it really seems like we have a horsefeathers load of holes to shore up and not a ton of resources to do so. Depending on Hendricks and Hamels health status we could need or at least could greatly benefit from:

-1-2 starters and not just a 4 or a 5, we need a legit 2 or at worst 3. If Hendricks and Hamels come back soon then maybe we can make due

-Specialist who can get lefties out

-Ideally another strong middle reliever

-2 bench bats

-Ideally an outfielder

-Someone to jettison Addison Russell to the sun

Resources to do that are a bottom 5 farm system and right at the artificial payroll ceiling the owners set.

Joe said it's a left oblique strain and Hamels is going on TBD injured list

From what I’m reading, depending on severity recovery time can range from 1-2 weeks to 3-4 months

i hope theo is embarrassed about all his "judge us by what we do next season" nonsense he spouted all offseason to make up for the team not improving. i have zero confidence in that guy at this point.

From my post earlier this is the injury in 2017 that messed him up pretty badly. Hope it’s minor but with how this year is going, not confident.

Post game with Hamels sounds like he doesn’t think he tore it like last time. Hopefully pulling himself was a good thing.

I was just thinking of the “dual fronts” thing when he started. Have the cubs ever had both a good major league team and farm system under Theo?
