I don't hate it at all; it's a total non-move. He's just a player I like making fun of.

That was quick:

I wonder if someone is going on the IL? Javy maybe?

Maybe, but if not I would just assume Jim Adduci is going back down. Left handed outfielder replacing a left handed outfielder.

Yeah, pretty sure that's all it is. The plan for Cargo after signing him was to let him get a few swings in Triple A and then bring him up as quickly as possible. A good swap.

[expletive], this post only managed to get even weirder.

Career ~72 wRC+ away from Coors.

"He's not Jim Adducci" is his sole virtue.

There have been studies out there that show that not only does Coors help hitters at home, but it hurts their numbers on the road too.

Look at DJ LaMahieu's numbers this year with the Yankees. Career .681 road OPS but .827 this year now that he joined a normal team.

Too bad that poor CarGo is joining the Cubs.

His main problem has been that he’s made of glass. He’s only played over 140 games three times in 12 seasons.

His main problem, as has been explained a few times already, is that he is a bad baseball player in his current form, and he has always been a bad baseball player away from Coors Field. If we need to rely on his health and durability in any way, we are so far beyond fucked.

Meh, he most likely sucks but he still put up okay numbers vs RHP last year (believe over .800 OPS though don’t know how much that’s Coors related). If he plays 2-3 times a week vs RHP maybe he’s productive. He’s likely taking Descalso/Bote/Almora ABs away vs RHP, the bar ain’t that high.

Almora and Bote are solid defenders though, which Gonzalez definitely isn't.

Batting 5th, playing RF tonight (over Almora, with Heyward in center). I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Edit: I also have zero problems with David Bote's .289/.364/.500 against RHP in 129 PAs this year.

I didn’t realize Bote was hitting so well vs RHP, damn. CarGo’s presence at least knocks Descalso down in the pecking order to more the LaStella role.
