Well that game last night was certainly something, KB hit the ball hard, Javy did Javy things, we went on a Heyride, and Strop closed it out with some of his best stuff of the year. These idiots have somehow already gotten to 2 over .500 after their pathetic start and have the 2nd best run differential in the NL, keep winning and never look back at .500 idiots and sweep these fucks in big dick Jon's return. #WeAreGood

Cubs closer Pedro Strop had quite the day/night. His car was stolen before the game so he was dealing with that "until the fourth inning" when he told police "I might have to pitch. I have to go." Says the car was later involved in a police chase. He was still dealing with the aftermath not long after securing the save in the Cubs 7-6 win over the Dodgers.

Given that our only other option at catcher right now is a cut rate backwoods version of Ian Happ, I'm fine pushing Willson a little, especially during this hot streak he's on. But let's please remember to learn our lesson from last year and give him some time off around the ASB/down the stretch. Hopefully it's Caratini when he comes back, but if it's not, can't hesitate on picking someone up.

He has had 2 off days in the past week, and one more after this weekend. But yes, they definitely need to dial it back as we enter May.

Good point. Looking through the Dbacks series, all of their starters have shown some evidence of success. Maybe give Contreras the Tuesday night game off against the shell of King Felix. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday off would be a nice little reset going into the Cardinals series.

With the days off it's probably fine(especially given the current backup), but day after night and then a cross country flight is non-trivial for a catcher. I'd rather punt a couple at bats worth of benefit to be extra conservative that Willson doesn't wear down.

Watching my bleacher seats on Stubhub at $19 when the lowest price is $17 and going up, but also it's pretty nice out and my boss is gone for the day...real emotional roller coaster.

Is it just me or have the Cubs been better at going the other way this year without Chili?

I think they definitely are. Amazing that just trying to hit the ball hard will lead to it vs focusing on a direction to hit a ball.

I give Javy a crapload of slack in his baserunning decisions because he's earned it tenfold but I don't understand the decision to run there at all.
