I don’t know what’s so hard to get. You can think both the Cubs aren’t very good, annoying and underachievers while also thinking the Cardinals aren’t very good, worse than then Cubs and overachieving the last ~month.

 

After yesterday and today though the math is getting hard to win the division, it’s still possible but not probable and just because the Cardinals likely go on to win the division doesn’t mean my stance is necessarily wrong.

 

you're a cool dude, but essentially saying that the cardinals aren't a good team because their wins came in bunches is silly. nobody is saying they're great, but they're clearly good.

They were .500 or under for a good chunk of the year, I don’t think they’re very good and I think this run has gotten them to a point where their win% is above their talent level and it wasn’t a probable thing to go on a run like that given their talent level.

Cardinals aren't good IMO. They're just the best team in a bad division. They'll get pummeled by Atlanta or LA depending on who they play. So will the Cubs.

At least they didn’t wait until the 7th 8th and 9th to comeback like they did this weekend vs Cincy. Most annoying part is scoring a combined 4 in the 1st 2 games then scoring 8 over 4 innings tonight.

 

Shifting my focus to Arizona, they have an easy schedule compared to Philly.

We are closer to the Cardinals for the division (whom most have rightfully given up on thinking we can catch or at least think it’s a long shot) than the Brewers are to us.
