Has Darvish had blister problems before? I feel like for some guys like Rich Hill it's a constant recurring thing, but usually it is a one-off.

Regardless it shouldn't be a big issue. Maybe push him back to the Braves series? From a "who cares about Yu's feelings" perspective it's way better to have Quintana pitch against the Rangers and Darvish pitch against the Braves anyway.

In the Yu thread there's a video of him talking about having one in the same exact spot once before.

Edwards also got tossed for intentionally hitting a 29 year old career minor league catcher.

Guy was crowding the plate. Gotta keep the hitter honest. Just gotta.

That sucks, but the fact that it was all the way back in 2013 is encouraging. He's probably more likely than average to get one, but isn't some Josh Beckett/Rich Hill type that's gonna get them 3-4 times a year.

ST can really be cut down by a week. Nobody cares about these games.

Duensuck's spring ERA is now over 10.

But I did find it funny that the last two pitchers today were Brach and Blach.

I am convinced the entire strategy of the offseason was to make this happen.

Probably ought to assume that this lineup, with Bote in for Lester and Zo DHing, is what we'll see opening day.

Given where we are on the calendar there's a decent chance it's meaningless, but Lester's velocity was way down tonight. His last two pitches in the 2nd were 91.7 and 91.4, but otherwise he didn't crack 91 and was mostly 88-89 on the four seamer.

On the positive side, pretty strong framing night from Willson. The whole "quarter turn" thing might actually be something.

EDIT: I assumed he was done after 3, but so far in the fourth none of this has changed.

Where’s KB’s power? All I see is weak grounders to 3rd.
Don't worry. Last year's power outage being a fluke for Bryant is just one of the dozen things the Cubs are counting on going right.

Darvish has a bullpen/side session Thursday, sounds like he’s pitching in Texas for one of the games if the blister isn’t an issue. I could see Hamels getting the other start in Texas then Hendricks and Q 1-2 in the Braves series. So Lester-Darvish-Hamels (Yu/Hamels in some order)-Hendricks-Q rotation.

Oh, sure, this is the game where we get our 20 runs.

Why is this not a bigger deal? The prophecy is fulfilled!
