Kinda surprised the Fangio SF Super Bowl defense isn't on that list.

ETA: Maybe they are. I'm just noticing that's only a partial list.

I'm surprised 2005 isnt on that list. Just based on nothing but eye test I thought that was the best defense since 85. 2006 started out great but because of injuries to Tommie Harris and Mike Brown dipped to just very good by the end of the year. 2005 team was so dominant (until the playoff game) that it would seem like a bad drive if they gave up a single first down.

I started to feel that way last night with this defense. Even against a record setting offense, towards the end of the game I was kinda just expecting the Bears to shut them down.

Man so many good things last night from a lot of different contributors. Roquan's 1st pick, Fuller's INT tying the league lead, Goldman safety, ho hum Mack strip sack, etc etc.

As good as they played that's not even their ceiling with their passing woes. I don't remember where I read it this morning, but someone mentioned Jim Miller's post game comments regarding how he came back with a similar injury and sailed everything his first game back. That makes me feel a lot better that good Biscuit will be ready for the Pack.

What was to stop the Bears from doing that like 7 more times?

If this becomes a thing, they should just change the rule to give the opponent a choice to either accept the penalty or stop the clock.

While we're on the subject of penalties, for the longest time I've wanted the NFL to make it so that if a team gets called for a delay of game penalty, they have the option of wasting a timeout (if they have it) instead of automatically losing 5 yards

Edit: I guess LAR could have used their last timeout to stop the clock if they wanted to.

The videos in the post are near porn level. I loved in the last one after Prince gets the pick, Jackson goes right into lead blocker mode and signals for Prince to follow him.

I was irrationally irritated that he:

1) intercepted the ball instead of knocking it down on a 4th down conversion (totally understandable instinct, though)

2) gave himself up instead of trying to kill time / change field position running the ball

But mostly I was happy that it sealed the win.

had to get the turnover ratio to +1 on the day

turnover on downs is still a turnover, no?

the same thing irked me a little in another game... i think it was the thanksgiving detroit game. but, whatever, they can get their stats.

I guess point 2 is partially offset by a conservative nature to not run around and get stripped, which was what my initial reaction was. But then, see point 1 and just knock it down.

Meh.

One other thing that last night’s win does: at worst, the Week 17 game will be for the division. But obviously it’s far more likely we clinch before

Has their ever been a scoring play where the 11 players on offense weighed more than the Bears last night?

Witzmann 320

Daniels 306

Leno 306
