This move made a lot of sense given he was out of options and he started costing money this year (think $1.5 was the arb estimate).

1.2 was MLBTR's estimate, so savings of 600k or so.

I'll be interested to see if La Stella keeps playing or not. He claims he was thisclose to retiring during his gap month after getting demoted 2 years ago, and said he would have were it not for the people in this particular org.

Heyward is pretty close to LaStella in career PH numbers, he’s like ~3 hits or BBs away from having better numbers. I think we can overcome.

Which historic free agent was Tommy helping cripple the Cubs from being able to sign?

I’m just saying in terms of people thinking LaStella is this great pinch hitter, Heyward has done what he does as a PH. It’s not like we lost anything for the people who put weight in to LaStella’s pinch hitting being a skill if freaking Heyward can do what he does/did.*

*I’m pretty certain PH really isn’t a skill. We’re talking small samples and in the end good hitters will hit regardless of situation and bad hitters won’t over the long haul.

Twitter, I know, is freaking out how valuable LaStella is for being a PH and how it’s a loss. I saw that Heyward nugget and thought it was a little interesting that LaStella has this great tool that bum ass Heyward also has.

Fairly certain his blubber brings us a hefty sum of cash out of this. But, Angels likely weighing that option versus sending us Trout. Not sure which has more value. Hopefully Theo gets his choice and makes the right call.

The best moment of his Cubs career?

Can’t be. That horsefeathers Ross was there.

They were only laughing to make sure Ross didn't take a switch to them after the game.
