So I get that while all the Webber comparisons are good and funny, Green wasn't the only one calling for a timeout (two other players and Kerr were all doing it, too), and it really was the only shot the Warriors had at that point of pulling of a miracle.

That said, what IS funny is I think that if the Warriors HAD pulled of a miracle and taken it to game 7, Green would have been suspended from playing because of the technical.

Yeah, the difference is the Warriors were going to lose if Draymond didn’t call the timeout. I don’t think that’s why he called it. I think it was just instinct in the heat of the moment. But if he doesn’t do that the clock runs out.

My buddy who played basketball through college said it would have actually gone down as a team technical when I brought up the same (hilarious) point.

Honestly, given how many people on the Warriors on the floor and the bench were calling for it as well, it wouldn't surprise me if they all knew to do it if needed.

That’s true. Didn’t think about that.

This offseason is going to be horsefeathering bonkers isn't it?

-KD and Klay both can be FAs, but both have injuries that will likely keep them out most or probably all of next year. How will the bidders be effected by this? Will KD opt in?

-All those teams that think they are close will obviously see an opening with GS not having KD or Klay next year. Couple that with the short term Kawhi trade turning into a championship without a super team, I would expect to see a lot of teams making short sighted moves to try to win next year. The Rockets, Thunder, 76ers, Celtics, Nets, Nuggets, Blazers and Clippers are all teams I can see fall into this category. We might see some crazy player movement.

-Speaking of player movement, beyond the GS guys, there is Kawhi likely leaving for an LA team, and the Sixers dealing with both Buckets and Tobias Harris being unrestricted FAs

-All this while the AD trade is looming over the draft and beyond

Could create lots of opportunity, which Pax will probably use to flip 7 for Ball or something dumb.

Was thinking the same thing. Every decent to good team is going to think with the right moves, they could win a title.

The West is a crapshoot because the Warriors aren’t hanging over everything. The top-4 in the East all have major free agent question marks. We’ll have a much better idea in a month but right now, there isn’t a clear favorite in either conference.

Best I could find, but last year at this time there were 4 or 5 teams (depending on the Lakers) with title odds better than 20-1. This year there are 8. Last year, there were 16 teams with worse than 100-1 odds. This year there are only 9.

I was thinking the same thing earlier today -- when's the last time the NBA has been this wide open? Probably the lockout year after 98?

Post Lakers breakup but before the Celtics got KG and Allen maybe, so 04-07? Mavs, Spurs and Suns were good all three years and Houston won 50+ twice. Those first three were probably the clear favorites in the West each year though.

06-07 was probably the move competitive in the East. Pistons were winding down (53 wins and 4th of 5 straight conf finals trips). LeBron made the Finals but the Cavs only won 50. Those were the only two that won 50 that year. Shaq only played 40 games for Miami and they only won 44 games.

I feel like there is a high probability of GarPax doing something(s) this offseason that finally chops off that last shred of hope I have for the franchise going forward.
