good luck getting free agents to play in new orleans now

Yes, this will be what keeps FA from going there. They will be in Seattle or Vegas in a few years anyways.

i'm just saying that new orleans clearly comes off worse if they really did something like this out of spite

It won’t matter because they never will get a big FA while they are in NO anyways unless they luck in to another Davis like guy in the draft and he can recruit a guy. Also idk how much players and the league actually will hold this against them. Seems like a lot of guys and teams are sick of Lebron’s horsefeathers with trying to pull these deals off behind teams backs and colluding. There’s probably a lot of players that love this move to spite Lebron.

i highly doubt that players would be anti-lebron in this case. the players want as much control as they can get. lebron is the most important person in basketball, and i don't blame him for using his power to get what he wants when his employers are always going to be doing the same thing.

i don't like the way the nba has become about the top 5-10 guys choosing where to win, but i don't blame the players for it (except for kd, horsefeathers kd)

Eh, I think guys are growing sick of Lebron and his horsefeathers. He’s a prick and makes life tough on his teammates. It was worth putting up with, with him in the east when you had guaranteed finals appearances and he was in his 20s/early 30s but that’s changing now. He isn’t guaranteeing you a finals appearance in the west and he’s getting old. It might not being worth putting up with for a lot of guys anymore.

He wasn’t able to get PG, didn’t get Kawhi and his camp even said he didn’t want to play with Lebron, I bet there’s guys happy he didn’t get his way here. Will be interesting to see what FA he’s able to bring in this offseason or if they can pull off an AD trade. It’s LA and Lebron, he’s going to end up with someone(s) but will be interesting if it’s who he actually wants or backup plans and his preferred targets (KD, Kyrie, Klay, Kawhi) go elsewhere (like NY, Warriors, Boston or Clippers).

james harden is so lame for an awesome player

Today was about as shameful as it gets in his gunning for 30.

Up 15 with 1:57 left, Mavs call a timeout and he stays in. Makes 2 FTs with 1:18 left to go back up 15. There's a foul a few seconds later and he still stays in. Then he chucks up a 3 with 50 seconds left to get to 31. Wish he would have missed that one just so he could have stayed in and jacked up another 3 with 15 seconds left.

And yeah, he's super boring and I can't stand watching the Rockets play.

Things that are true:

-The most 3 points Rondo has attempted in a game in his career is 7.

-In the first 5:36 of tonight’s game, Rondo took 7 3 pointers. You might be thinking that he must have been shooting well. Well, you would be wrong. He missed his first 5 and is 1-7.

I know division titles mean nothing in the NBA but has there ever been a sub-.500 division winner before? Because there almost certainly will be this year. Charlotte and Miami lead the Southeast at 29-34 right now.

lebron passed michael on the scoring list and the crowd in LA gave him a half assed ovation for like 15 seconds it was so oddly depressing

Matched his half assed overall effort and attempt to blow the team up this year. Can’t imagine why the fans wouldn’t be overly enthusiastic to applaud him.

One of the very few enjoyable things to do with the Pels this season is how they totally punked the Lakers at the deadline.

The best part is yet to come. The next one on the scoring list for Lebron to pass... is horsefeathering Kobe Bryant. It'll occur at some point next season and I really hope it happens in LA.

LA fans worship Kobe and you know it'll be awkward as hell. At least I hope it'll be awkward and weird.

I dont even dislike lebron, I just hate the Lakers and i cant help but take some joy in how that whole thing is going. like I dont blame him for being satisfied with his career and wanting to go to LA for his family and his career after basketball, but it is so clear that hes not fully invested in winning there, and that is going to continue pissing off lakers fans to no end.

Piling on Lebron? I’m in.

I’ve also seen that Kuzma fell asleep on D and was pushing LeBron to his man, but that seems unlikely, and who then was LBJ guarding?

Lebron hasn’t played defense in a few years, but this year has been especially funny to watch. He just doesn’t care. He just kinda roams around out there and plays free safety and switches for no reason all the time. It’s something.

Westbrook pulled off a triple twenty. Only Wilt had ever done it. Yet it feels cheap as horsefeathers because its Westbrook.

Why does it feel cheap? Going 20-20-20 is insane.

I didn't watch the game. It doesn't feel cheap to me, but rather, according to a lot of comments I've seen online, and on another forum I frequent. A lot of talk about how he "stat hunts" and shouldn't have even been in the game late.

To me it's an extraordinary accomplishment.

He definitely stat hunts, especially rebounds late. He essentially will foul his own guys for boards. I have no idea if he did in this game. I did see people complaining it took him like 28 shots to get to 20 points, but whatever. It is a cool accomplishment.
