What is better:

Gracefully go out to the Dodgers or Rockies in a respectable Wrigley Field farewell

OR

Sauntering up to Milwaukee for another three beatings so we can all whine about not getting enough off days and that Yelich shouldn't be allowed to be good.

The Rockies have a guy with a .237 and a guy with .172 batting average, so those are guys to watch out for if the Cubs play them tomorrow

Yeah, it's tough to feel confident about a series against Milwaukee right now.

At this point I'm just like whatever.

Who are the potential starters for each team?

Lester goes for us. Marquez and Stripling would've been lined up for Colorado and LA but I guess Marquez started this game for the Rockies?

Potential starters:

Dodgers - guy who will give up hard hit balls right at guys but strike out enough Cubs to give up 1 run or less

Rockies - see above

Cubs - guy who will give up 4 bloop hits and walk guys at precisely the wrong time leading to 2 runs before the bullpen takes over and gives up a couple more leading to a 4-1 or 4-0 loss

Do not let anyone but Lester, Chavez or Cishek pitch.

Actually f it, season on the line, if Strop is good enough to go Thursday, he's good enough to go Tuesday with our backs against the wall. I wouldn't make it a point to get him in there but if there's a situation where its either him or one of the other 40 medicore to bad bullpen arms in our pen, I'll risk reinjury or rust

As was pointed out in the Brewers thread, Hamels will be on 2 days rest. Maybe he could go an inning and still pitch Friday in Game 2?

Edited because I forgot the WC game changes our rotation

Cubs need 2 things to happen to have a shot at winning WC game..

Lester goes at least 8 inning

Bats figure out how to score a bunch of runs

They have to go to the pen to hold a small lead or keep it close, pray

As far as facing the Brewers again..

Again, they will need Lester Hendricks and Hamels to pitch deep into games and keep the pen use very limited..

Bats need to score and build a lead

Confidence level: Low

you guys know we face the loser right?

We *are* the loser. We face the impending winner.

No the winner faces the Braves in the NLDS.
