I'd really like to see one of your posts that was this rational and used actual logic instead of just lashing out in anger.

We can all agree on that. And, yes, the Cubs having more talent and the best record in the NL meant they should have won the division. They didn't. We all know sometimes it doesn't happen. But usually it does. That's why we weren't freaking out in horsefeathering June.

lol if you want to mistake "calmly" dismissing the brewers viability as a division opponent for 5 months as analysis, be my guest. I think we can line our posts up on the topic and let history judge that one.

Again, no one, not even me of all people, was "freaking out in horsefeathering june." I was trying to explain to people like you that despite allllll the built-in benefits we go into the season with, the margin between what we were at that point in the season and what the brewers were at that point is the season was not wide enough for all the dismissive bragging.

It's a lovely story but you keep leaving out the part where you blinked, apologized to Duke and jinxed the season.

Imagine how obnoxious my crowing would be had I not made that post.

Yeah he was full-out Cubs Q. The only reason the PC was low was because he was giving up ropes early in the count that we’re going right to guys

I really don't think today was on Joe.

Q routinely gets shelled the third time through the order (I think his OPS against is like .930 this year). Yelich hit a leasoff single and he was about to face their 3-4-5 hitters with 0 outs in a tie game. If he leaves Q in and he gets shelled the uproar is a lot worse.

The key for me is still removing Chavez after just 16 pitches so that LaStella could hit with 2 outs and no one on. The chances of the Cubs producing a run in that situation with LaStella Heyward and Happ due up are very low. The chances of Justin Wilson coming in and [expletive] all over himself against the top of the Brewers order is much higher. I will be angry about that decision until the end of time if the Cubs lose tomorrow

Thank god. I'm going to have to go back to the 2016 playoff game threads if you get any more "told-ya-so"-like.

Pointlessly pulling Chavez for La Stella when he did is all on Joe.

You are the whiniest person I've ever met and you've been crying about the Cubs since last April. You deserve to never derive pleasure from sports again in your life.

I’m still salty that MLB decides that they had to change the rules to set up a play in game. I think a 19-game sample is plenty to decide a division winner in the case of a tie.

The whatever number of games in days + 1 is my bigger issue. Just brutal.

Yep, that was a huge mistake in my opinion. You probably burn him for today if you send him back out there, but then again, you’re possibly not playing today if you leave him in and can score a run. I have no idea who’s closing in that scenario though.

I can't tell if people are serious or joking when they say 'The Plan' was a mistake

I thought they were making fun of Kyle.

i know i'm a spoiled awful sports fan when winning the first world series in 108 years doesn't really make me feel much better about a 95 win team that still cruised into the playoffs because they played kinda mediocre down the stretch after sustaining a bunch of injuries

in retrospect didn't it pay off? We only scored one run. Unless he developed a way to somehow hold milwaukee to negative runs, we would have burned him for today and still lost. Im aware this is a results over process situation but I'm glad chavez can pitch today so

I'm confused why it's even a process question. Yes there were 2 outs and no one on, but it's a tie game that you have 7 outs to win, punting one of them to give Chavez a chance to face Arcia, Shaw, Cain, Yelich doesn't seem like a particularly great idea.
