Lauri missing 6-8 weeks flat out sucks. Hopefully he sees the ball enough once he gets back.

I'm guessing 26-56 for the year.

Eh, I think they were better than that partly because Niko had an insane stretch and carried them for a little while. I don't think that happens on that level, with anyone, this year. And I'm more than a little concerned that there will be enough balls to go around, with LaVine and Jabari chucking.....

Plus, the extremely small amount of time LaVine/Lauri/Dunn were on the court together last year resulted n some horrible +/- numbers.

I am excited about seeing this group, I think there's quite a bit of talent. But, I fully expect a season full of growing pains.

Nah, they'll be way better than that. They were a game better last year with a worse team and a stronger Eastern conference.

They probably overachieved based on W-L last year. 23-59 expected W-L.

Lots of unknowns though. A resurgent Jabari that puts Lavine in a more tertiary offensive role that focused on 3s and dunks... could be a decent team. Or they'll clash horribly and Lauri (once healthy) never sees the ball.

I'm guessing they go.....

1 Dunn, Payne

2 LaVine, Valentine

3 Holiday, Hutchison

4 Parker, Portis

5 Lopez, Carter

Hopefully Carter gets 20+ MPG from the start and starters minutes once Lopez is moved at the deadline. And it'd be nice if Hutchison finds a way to stick in the rotation after Lauri comes back. But, he's probably odd man out unless there's a back court injury or Holiday gets dealt.

So LaVine and Dunn have looked good so far. Carter too. Portis looks like he's taken another step too....

But Jabari lol..... He fits in much better with the second unit, but he's already making waves after one game. And its even the best he's looked lol.

Personally, I want him and LaVine on the court together as little as possible. Much easier to mask one bad defender than 2.

Yeah, LaVine looks great so far in preseason. I think his new deal won't be as bad as some people claimed earlier this summer. Jabari looks bad and I don't know why we signed him. We could have used that cap space to take a bad contract and get a draft pick/young asset.

I'm really down on Jabari and also think he fits better with the second unit.

have there been any updates as far as lauri's recovery? initial report was 6-8 weeks (like two weeks ago), right?

Nothing new.

Bulls calling a 1 pm presser tomorrow for a 'business, not basketball' announcement per KC Johnson. Guessing they've sold the jersey ad.

I want Reinsdorf to sell and GarPax gone. But, I'm not sure what you're supposed to expect heading into the second year of a rebuild.

Parker was a flyer. Nothing more. Probably more upside than using that same money to add another Chandler Hutchison type talent.....

I think LaVine and Dunn improve off last year. And I think Lauri and Carter are excellent building blocks.

Don't expect more than 25-30 wins, but I think they'll be back in the playoffs in 2019-2020, after they get lucky and get Barrett or Little in the draft.....

pretty damn on point. I wish I could be excited about the young guys on the team but I just feel like there is no overall direction so its hard for me to turn the games on. Maybe I'm just older and don't have more time for crap teams, but the post-Jordan years I ate up the rebuild, obsessed over the young talent and imagined how good they would be and then the 04-05 team happened which is one of my favorite non-contending sports teams ever. This time around my thought is 'wake me up when they're competitive again'

Yeah, I kinda feel the same way. It's harder as you get older to keep the same enthusiasm for a rebuild. We've seen rebuilds go bad so many times. I still remember the hype around the "Baby Bulls".

I think we have to hire a young GM who will try to emulate The Process in Philly. They have such a bright future now. Obviously, the blatant tanking sucked, but they're reaping the rewards now and fans are excited. How excited are Bulls fans right now for a fringe playoff team?

This group just isn't active enough. Those last few roster spots ought to be a constant shuffle and after enough of that, you might end up with a Covington.....

I don't think they'll be a true contender for any elite FA next year. If anything, I'm hopeful they'll be able to take on bad salary then.

I think the beginnings of this group is much, much better than the Baby Bulls honestly. I just wish we'd hire someone competent to go from this point forward.
