Meh, Harper or Machado gets them right back on the super team track

Hypothetical Harper lineup:

Harper

Bryant

Rizzo

Baez

Schwarber

Contreras

Zobrist

Heyward

Hypothetical Machado lineup:

Rizzo?

Bryant

Schwarber

Machado

Zobrist

Baez

Contreras

Heyward

Huuuuge offseason coming up

yeah maybe if we sign one generational talent we can finally topple the brewers

Outside of the general miracle of him being who is, it's double miraculous he's been able to stay healthy given how banged up his style of play must leave him.

I absolutely think he's been playing hurt for a while. Every time he gets on base, he winces like he just did something heroic, even if it was just a single to right.

Oh, most definitely. It's inevitable the dude is going to have some extended DL stints.

you know chili sucks because "new hitting coach unlocks baez' potential" is the easiest story of all time to write, and there hasn't been a peep about anything of the sort.

Thats because it would be more like “ Javy Baez has no idea who the new coach is, says he thinks his name is Larry. Promptly hits 3 hrs”

Plus it would be pretty hard to ignore how almost everyone else has started pooping their pants.

and the other guy having a good year has a personal hitting coach (Jesus)

There's another guy have a good year? Give me some clues.

can you imagine the headlines if Davis was ever fired from the reds:

With the sight of offensive diarrhea never seen before, the stomach of division rivals curdle after the canning of Cincinnati's Chili.

"Ben Zobrist: Creepy Weirdo?" is one of my finest threads that I completely forgot about. We really went through a whole dramatic arc in that one.

However much time you spent thinking on this, was way too long

I, for one, am sick of the Brewers winning the Central year after year

See, I think this is ultimately our and Theo's problem. Our rival is the frackin' Milwaukee Brewers. No matter whether you beat them or not, no matter whether they win 85 games or 95, it's still just embarrassing to be fighting over the division with the Milwaukee Brewers. He needs a Yankees-level foil to work off of.

Brewers are certainly resembling Maddon's Rays sans the creepy manager thing

Every time he swings and misses he swings his right shoulder like it’s hurt or stiff. Maybe his uniform just twists when he misses.

Yeah, he does some twisting after big swings but that's something I see a lot of guys do. Murphy did it after a swing yesterday too.
