Sure....it's just his shoulder...

I'm telling you; this dude is always squinting and blinking like he's either having trouble seeing, or he's going to cry. Maybe both.

I think the blinking and squinting is just a thing he does to make sure his eyes are opened as much as possible before a pitch, it might even be a subconscious/routine thing st this point. I remember a coach telling the team to do something similar in between pitches when I played to make sure “your eyes were open before a pitch.” It sounds dumb but I get the theory.

I was told we were mocking the Brewers by calling them vaunted and that they had no chance to win the division and I was a ninny for being at all concerned.

horsefeathers, this is my biggest fear.

No longer when Tim calls us Ninnies will it matter. No longer when Duke makes fun of us for doubting will it matter. This is like when we won the World Series in 2016.

Once I realize the elites and the best of the best can be wrong in a big way, well, that really sucks as much as Addison Russell.

I think that's like how Nick Swisher looked up into the sky before every pitch or something.

Well I'd rather lose to the Rockies than the Cardinals so...

You'd also rather be a Wild Card team than the Division winner based on you cheering for the Brewers right now, so horsefeathers your opinion and horsefeathers the Bulls.

If the Cubs aren't going to win, who gives a horsefeathers.

Well, we could have won the division had the Cardinals won some games against the Brewers.

I say we give as many regular starters the day off tomorrow as you can. Don’t even have them come to the ballpark. Worst case we are 1/2 game back which we can make up on Thursday. Then we just have to beat the Cardinals more than the Brewers beat the *checks Brewers schedule* oh Jesus Christ the Tigers??!!

They really didn’t have a chance short of getting crazy hot like they did. We were at 70%+ at the division for a good amount of time now (think we even hit over 90% at one point). They aren’t the better team and I’ll die on that hill, let them have this year I guess. They still suck and are nothing to worry about long term.

My other thought is..after 40 scheduled games in 41 days, instead of a 3 day break that the team so desperately needs, we’d be stuck with one day off before playing for our lives and then if we win another day off before the NLDS.

Meanwhile the already well rested Brewers would get as many days off in a row as we have had in the last 45 days

I don't think they are better when we have our healthy version. I do think they are better than the team we have now.

This game is as good as over. Might as well just miss the playoffs.

You've written this a few times the past week or so. I think this is when you get crazy. There is no reason why we might as well miss the playoffs. Make the playoffs. And this is coming from a guy who is 100 percent ready for the season to be over.

One week ago today they were 95.1% to win the division. If they miss it this won’t be an all time meltdown but it will be pretty high up there.

Sorry Len, the only crooked number the Cubs are putting up tonight is if the scoreboard guy was hanging out with Joe before the game and hangs the 1 at an angle.

My eyes could not have possibly rolled more reading this

Yelich is like the only good offensive player they have under 30 long term and their starting pitching mostly sucks and they have no huge prospects coming up and are poor and can’t afford FAs. What do they possibly have going on that you think they will push more than mid 80s wins moving forward? Everything went right for them this year.

As the teams are now they are better and watching this team, especially in the 2nd half, you know that 70%-90% weren’t realistic. It was always going to come down to the wire. Right now nobody trusts this team to score runs unless Javy pops one. Cross your fingers and pray for 4 singles.

You were one of the four in my quick poll last week that had the Cubs winning the division.

Still? Or no?

It would be but the Brewers also have like 1 loss in that time. If they don’t get crazy hot we’ve been playing well enough to win the division.
