Cubs won today. That was good. They should probably do that again.

The good news is one of the Brewers or Cardinals will lose tomorrow. The bad news is one of them will win tomorrow. As long as the Cubs keep winning the other series doesn’t matter to our division chances.

Random thought: wouldn’t mind seeing Chatsuck start the Thursday game against the Bucs or any of the games against the Sh!tbirds.

The game right after we clinch. I'm good with it.

I'd rather see the Cubs sweep the Cards and keep them out of the playoffs.

Yeah, the rational side of me wants to have nothing to do with a possible series in Coors field and possibly face a shitty StL team. The irrational me wants them obliterated from playoff contention.

Fun fact: ive seen him called Chatsuck and Chatwalk so many times that it was a legit struggle to recall his real name.

win the first 3, Cardinals take 2/3, pop some champagne Wednesday night and start getting ready for Game 1

If we’re winning the next three games I want the Brewers winning at least 2 in St Louis.

I’m gonna have to strongly disagree with this line of thinking. Get the division wrapped up as soon as possible, it requires the cardinals winning so be it.

Damn, rough time to be rocking a Russell avatar pic, my dude.

Lol. Been trying to get it switched to something else and am having issues.

Setting up a Gravatar account & uploading an avatar there was the only way I could change mine. :dontknow: No clue why I could neither upload an image nor link to a remote image like I used to.

I get the sentiment. However, a magic number of 1 (or 2) with 7 games to be played (4 Cubs, 3 Brewers) does not scare me. A 2-3 game lead over Milwaukee is waaaaay more comfortable than a 3 game lead over the Cardinals simply due to the head to head factor of the last weekend of the season.

If the Cubs win 2 of the next 3 games and the Cardinals take 2 of 3 from the Brewers, the Cubs could clinch Thursday vs Pittsburgh. Let's do that.

Barring injury to another starter, trust me, it would be fantastic if he started one of those games.

Interesting that your avatar has a Packers helmet.

A lot of people, myself included, were not happy with Lovie Smith’s decision to roll over for the Packers the last game of the 2010 season. The Bears were already Central Division champs. The Packers were on the outside looking in and needing a little help. The Packers won and got the help they needed.

I’ll end the story there.

ETA: If there’s a chance, kick the cards out.

Seriously though, did the Bears really roll over for the Packers in that game? IIRC, Cutler and most if not all of the starters played the entire game, and the Bears were like 30-40 yards short of tying the game when it ended. They might have dumbed down the play calling a bit, but I would expect that against a potential playoff opponent on the last game of the season with no seeding implications for the Bears.

Also, I look forward to the posts going from "when we clinch how should we handle the Cardinals series" to "we are really going to blow this/what a disappointing season" if the Cubs lose and Brewers win tonight.
