Gosh I have no idea what to take away from the first 2 games. Yes the defense is great maybe elite, but are they the 2005 Bears level good where they can take a horsefeathers offense to the playoffs?

I seem to be in the minority but I want to give this group little bit of time to put it together.

I’m not giving up on the offense but I am not seeing a lot that I like from Mitch. You’d hope to see glimpses and other than his scrambling plays I’m not really seeing it. But anyone feel free to make me wrong

I liked the second half. Think he played more composed and bounced back nicely from the picks/overthrows.

Isn’t he still learning the offense? I would expect him to get more comfortable with reads and knowing exactly where guys are supposed to be as the season goes on. If we haven’t seen a difference by game 8, then yeah, I get the concerns.

This. A horsefeathers coaching staff last year plus people are drooling over Mahomes. Give it 8 games at least, especially with a new coaching staff. This team is a 10-6 team.

His reads aren't great, but he had a lot of problems with his throws tonight too.

The time for being graded on a curve runs out eventually.

And 9 days ago you were his greatest defender. Give it half a season Christ

Honestly, as long as we see progress as the year goes on I'll be okay with it.

8 games at least? This isn't baseball. By week 8 your fate can be decided. This team can't afford a guy who can't make throws.

He's looked like ass the last two weeks. I don't know what "give it" means. Am I not supposed to say he looked like ass? Am I supposed to text Nagy and tell him nevermind about the advice from me he was about to listen to?

We're grading him on the Tebow scale and he is still getting Cs and Bs right now.

Cutlers greatest apologist.

Trubisky under threw an int. He tried to dart a short crossing route that was knocked up for an int. Overthrew one in an obvious completion. But I’ve read that script a 1000 times with Jay at QB.

To compare him with Malhomes is stupid. 8 games feels like a good barometer for a 2nd year guy, first year into a complex offense. Look, I loved Cutler, but let Mitch grow into this.

Did Jay Cutler play in this game? If not, don't you dare bring him up in this thread. Go find a Cutler thread.

I don't have an issue with the INTs. Interceptions on deep balls never bother me. Essentially a punt (sucks that it was on 1st down). Underthrown, but it happens. Tipped balls also happen. My concerns are with the lack of footwork and pocket prescence. That has to get better.

But it looked like he read the field well for the most part. The almost picks were worse, and there's that should have never been made. The short throws we're pretty easy, but it's essentially what Alex Smith did all day in this offense successfully. The ability to hit the downfield stuff though will be necessary. The overthrow to Gabriel was terrible and can't happen.

The underthrown INT bothered me, as it was first down and he, you know, underthrew an open receiver. The should have been INTs were worse. The horribly missed throws were bad throws. He was not accurate at all. It's troubling to see that.

The playmaking ability is there, but where the hell is the throw making ability?

Judging from that last post, jersey had as much to drink as I did

Mitch looked like Grossman on his bad throws

That was a case of fat finger typing with eyes half open this morning. I only had ~4 beers and couple glasses of wine last night.
