This is getting absurd. They make the Cubs play until almost 2am last night plan for a day game today and now they’re making the team wait around all day for a game that might not be played anyway (and ultimately might not matter). I know the flight to Chicago isn’t a long one but this is getting crazy.

 

Just postpone this thing and be done with it.

So Thursday is Scherzer on full rest if the Nationals choose to go with him.

Yep. We’ll probably know tomorrow based on who they start. If they go with the rando who was supposed to start today, we’ll get Ross. If they start Roark, we’ll probably get Scherzer.

Unbelievable. No days off for the rest of the year. If they do blow the division, you can definitely make a case that this debacle played a big part.

 

We’re off Thursday the 20th.

WHY THE horsefeathers are they so insistent on making the Cubs play this during the horsefeathering season? This is unbelievable. The MLB is doing everything they can to make life as difficult as possible for the Cubs and I don’t know why.

 

There are at least 2 seasons in recent memory of a Cubs game getting cancelled and never being rescheduled because the Cubs didn’t need the games. why can’t this happen again?

The Cubs and Nationals front offices seem to be on decent terms, so I'm thinking the Nationals may stay away from Scherzer on Thursday because they recognize how badly the Cubs are getting screwed here. This isn't a case of maintaining the integrity of a playoff race. Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part, but the Nationals have nothing to gain by attempting to bury the Cubs in this situation.

Just send Iowa to face Scherzer on Thursday and let the major league team have the off day.

 

Tell them if they sweep the Brewers this week that’s the bonus they get.
