Not a huge fan of Russell in there again with this being a pretty important game, but I suppose this is a good time to get Murphy a rest. Almora and Russell each have a career homer against Miley. It would be nice for at least one of those two plus Contreras to figure it out.

Monty is a pretty extreme GB pitcher, so I don’t mind maximizing the infield defense and with a lefty it makes a little sense to let today be the day Murphy gets a break since we have like 9 more games in a row before an off day. Almora batting leadoff is dumb but the players picked to play make sense.

We really need to end this Almora leading off non-sense. He might see a total of 10 pitches in 4 AB's. Definitely never have him hit leadoff in a playoff game.

 

I'm fine with Russell batting ninth I guess. I don't expect him to do much. Maybe go 1-3 or 1-4 with a soft single.

Id be surprise if Almora starts a playoff game..

 

You have to think Schwarber Heyward and Zobrist gets the bulk of the starts and Bryant probably gets a start out there if Maddon goes with Russell at SS with Baez at 3B and Murphy 2B..

 

Be interesting to see how crazy joe handles the postseason with the group he has, i just worry he might pull out his offensive guys too soon to go to his defense

Every player in the lineup has a wRC+ over 100 this year vs LHP. Murphy is fine vs lefties, like Rizzo, he was probably going to get at least one day off before the next off day. This is a fine one to pick especially as I mentioned above with a GB pitcher like Monty starting.
