To begin with, the .381 BABIP on 50% GBs and ~5% BB rate and ~20% K rate.

All of which is true, and yet, he has still produced

Jesus christ, this again.

Saying that the numbers predict a drop-off and that he has outproduced his peripherals can both be true

So I was expecting to see Almora's splits be horrendous against right-handers based on the talk here. But he's hitting .311 with a .350 OBP in 221 plate appearances this season.

I know I'm missing something, but what is it?

He has a 506 OPS against righties in July.

Archie he’s mad he got hit on the arm, he doesn’t think you hit him on purpose. Moron.

My favorite moment of last year was him hitting that triple in the playoffs and giving up the two bombs the next inning.

Not predict a drop off. They have already started to.

Derwood: I understand your logic, but let me present to you the fact that its been 60 degrees for the last 3 days so its possible that the weather will continue to outperform

in how many PA's?

And why use arbitrary data sets (calendar months)?

Listen, I'm not arguing that Almora is great or even very good, but I'm tired of the "his good stats don't count because BABIP" refrain. I absolutely think he's going to end up with pedestrian numbers by season's end, but I don't discredit what he's done to this point

That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is "it's been 60 degrees for the last 3 days, and you saying that the average temperature those days is 38 doesn't change the fact that it was 60 degrees the last 3 days"

But literally no one is doing that. None of us like, feel bad for the success he had early in the season. It was a fun added bonus compared to expectations and (most likely) skill level, because baseball has a lot of randomness and these things happen. He'll still get credit for his first half at the end of the year. But pretty much everything says he won't be that good going forward, and we've already seen it this month, and as such there is no reason to continue batting him 2nd against righties, and when everyone is healthy he really shouldn't be playing against them at all.

Then what is your horsefeathering point? I mean I know your whole thing is to say insanely obvious things but what the horsefeathering hell?

Ichiro, is the only player in MLB history who has put up a .380 BABIP and >50% GB rate in a season. From my 3 min looking on fangraphs. But yes because Almora did it for a small sample we should keep pushing our luck.
