but yeah, this team is boring as a horsefeathers a lot. definitely more than they should be. it's okay to say that.

Two days ago, they won on a walk-off. Yesterday they made like 5 highlight reel plays on defense and had the Dodgers announcers drooling on air, thinking about how fun they are to watch.

I find myself viscerally agreeing with 17 Seconds, but if I take a breath my brain can explain to me that it's just this extended limp dick stretch on offense. 2 runs against Harvey, all the shut outs, the occasional majestic Schwarber dong being our only sustenance. It's very frustrating watching so many good hitters hit like Jason Heyward used to hit. I know it will end, it just doesn't feel like it will ever end.

Yeah, the offensive struggles are frustrating. But you're right; they won't continue.

And the good thing is that they aren't always boring when the bats go cold because they play amazing defense and have good starting pitching and a good bullpen.

The bats struggled the whole Dodgers series, and the opposing announcers still went viral talking about how fun it is to watch us play baseball. The whining about them being boring is nonsense.

REALLY extended. Don't believe the VRD.

speaking of vrd (and in the spirit of making duke mad), the brewers are up to +58 as of this moment.

The only thing that pisses me off about the Brewers is how their 5 waiver wire starters seems to never give up more than 1 or 2 runs. It's an entire damn rotation of 2009 Randy Wells.

I know the actual numbers probably don't back this up, but horsefeathers you.

When is the last time you heard opposing announcers talk about how fun it is to watch another team? And when their own team was in the World Series the previous year?

i mean, i'm sure the cubs are generally known around the league as a fun team to watch because of all the fun players they have. that doesn't mean the games themselves this season haven't been boring an unusual amount of the time.

i don't see why this needs to be an argument. people calling the 2018 cubs season boring shouldn't bother you.

I mean if you think this Cubs team is boring maybe baseball isn’t for you. Annoying and frustrating at times, yes. But boring, come on.

You'll never have fun watching baseball again.

I love coming in here after work when I know the cubs lost just to see the back and forth of DOOOOOMMMMMM vs. QUIT WATCHING IF YOU THINK THEY SUCK.

Wish they'd stop losing 1/3 of their games. Bunch of chumps. Why even play if you're never gonna sweep a series?

So it appears I'm the anti-Sammy Sofa. I left to go for a run tonight and the Cubs were up 2-0. I get back and they're down 6-2.

Run backwards next time

horsefeathers sabermetrics on this one

Quoting this, obviously

If Heyward finishes with an OPS+ over 110 I will do the same.

The Cubs basically have this same team guaranteed to be back outside of Justin horsefeathering Wilson next year and only lose Zobrist and some bullpen arms the year after..... So if you find this team boring or think it sucks you are stuck with it, I'd recommend finding another team or other hobby because we are stuck with this crap factory of a top line MLB offense and near top pitching staff with a savant running the front office.

I hope it's not the exact same squad. I hope we sign this guy standing next to KB:

3-3 against the Reds is pretty sickening

In 2015, the Cubs went 3-3 against the White Sox (76 wins), 1-3 against Detroit (74 wins), 3-3 against Miami (71 wins), 2-5 against Philly (63 wins) and 3-3 against San Diego (74 wins). The 2015 Cubs won 97 games that year.

In 2016, the Cubs went 3-3 against Atlanta (68 wins), 2-2 against the White Sox (78 wins) and 2-4 against Colorado (75 wins). The 2016 Cubs won 103 games.

In 2017, the Cubs went 2-4 against San Diego (71 wins). The 2017 Cubs won 92 games.

Also, since May 6 (I only know this because the other day I looked up our record after getting swept by the Cards), the Reds have a better record than both the Cards and the Pirates.
