Does R Mack or anybody remember if he was happy the night we won the Series? Or was he like Pete Rose and talking about how in six years we were going to lose all these guys?

It's time to let 2016 go, it was great and happened and last year was fine with the World Series hangover excuse but what's the excuse now?

Daaaaaaamn. I'm not ever letting 2016 go. Dude, that was the year all living Cubs fans were waiting for, dreamed and prayed about. Damn you.

But, were you happy that night or already thinking about how they might fail to repeat? Just trying to learn more about you before I jump in and judge you like everyone else has.

I'm not letting the 1985 Bears go either, 33 years later and look where they are

The fact that you think a 92 wins is something that requires an excuse is proof that you're either trolling or outrageously entitled.

They weren't a good team last year. They built a huge hole and spent the entire 2nd half digging themselves out of it and benefitted from playing in probably the 2nd worst division in baseball. And then when they got to the NLCS, they were gassed and admitted it. This year they were supposed to come out hot and avoid all this, instead it's the same exact team. Quite frankly, I don't think the players have let 2016 go yet and that's a problem.

I suppose you can start feeling frisky again in three decades if you want. But don't say for one second that before 2016 that you wouldn't have given up the rest of your Cubs fan career to see it happen just once. Maybe you would have, but my quota has been filled. I want to see another one, sure, but you still have to appreciate the one we just got less than two years ago. Never forget.

I'd rather see them win again when they're in a championship window, otherwise it might be a 33+ year drought like the Bears with no titles in sight. One championship in 109 years just isn't good enough, sorry.

I'm actually willing to consider this, because I have. It's impossible to measure because there is no stat, but I still saying winning the biggest sports championship in the history of the game, and the core doing it at such a young age, might have affected that "edge" of a team.

Pretty sure nobody would agree, though.

So 7 ERs for Carl in his last 2.1 IP. Dead arm maybe?

He’s had a really weird schedule lately I think. Like off 4-6 straight days and now he’s gone 3 times in 4 to 5 days.

Well, first, they have a chance to win another championship again.

Second, there are other ways you can look at it. One championship in two years. Or three championships in 110 years.

Can't play like you did last year and expect to make the playoffs. The NL Central has 3 teams that might be better.

I'm actually happy you post because it snaps me back into reality during the game threads. The Cardinals are an 88 win team. The Brewers will be .500. The Pirates .500. The Cubs will win 92-95 games and win the division easily.

regardless of this game being annoying as all get out, zobrist turning on that 98mph high heat and smashing it foul that hard was freakin crazy in the last at bat.

Hopefully, that momentum carries over to tomorrow.

Meh 8 hits and 1 run in a drizzle for some of it isn't such a tough pill to swallow alone if its the offense that is a point of concern. These Braves are actually alright. It's all sequencing, we'll get em tomorrow.
