I think the only way I would be happy is if the Cubs had the best record in the National League. During this time of talent, I just always feel like anything else is underachieving.

It’s fine to be disappointed and frustrated. To call the team with the 2nd best RD in the NL a “bad team” is another thing entirely.

RD is not a sure bet predictor of how good a team is (although it’s not a bad one) but it tells me there’s a good team in there

Does R Mack or anybody remember if he was happy the night we won the Series? Or was he like Pete Rose and talking about how in six years we were going to lose all these guys?

Jesus that’s all you need to know about anything. About 3 hours after the Cubs won the World Series he is bitching about a November NBA game.

I sincerely feel bad for the guy. I mean, online personas are oftentimes bull horsefeathers, but assuming just for a moment this is who he is, it truly must be awful to live the life he's living, with this level of constant disappointment.

I'm actually willing to consider this, because I have. It's impossible to measure because there is no stat, but I still saying winning the biggest sports championship in the history of the game, and the core doing it at such a young age, might have affected that "edge" of a team.

Pretty sure nobody would agree, though.

Wouldn’t surprise me. But like you said, no way to really prove it

Man, I just feel bad for the dude. That's bleak as hell.

even down to his avatar being the "this is fine" dog with the room in flames around him. like, what the hell has happened to this dude that gotten him to be like this?

edit - sorry, was the this is fine dog. didn't notice he changed it to that angry frown emoji

Add in the fact that he's so vocal and public about it, that he's not created a situation where he WANTS the Cubs to fail in order fulfill his narrative

That character about ruined the movie for me (not that it's high art to begin with). There's nothing funny about him (I assume the movie was going for laughs with him), he's just horsefeathering infuriating to listen to.
