Dear Yu,

I've been defending you all year. My friends all say Yu sucks, but I don't think you suck. I say Yu just needs some time, but then you have another start and you suck again. Please be good.

Love,

If anyone cares, I once went by the user name The R-Train. I don't remember my password and I don't remember which of my dozen or so e-mails I used to sign up. So this is my life.

But if anyone remembers a four-game sweep the Cubs had of the Brewers in 2008, that was me.

Win.

It can be done. I used to be one of the worst ninny's on the board. I remember one time in....2008 after a loss that you called me the worst whiner on the board or something like that. Some will probably say I'm still a ninny, but I like to think I improved a lot over the years.

Honestly, I used to get terribly hung up on regular season games and a loss would completely ruin my day (still kinda puts an annoying damper, but not like before), but since the Cubs got this good to where playoffs are entirely expected, things would have to be really going shitty to move the needle for me. Last year at the all star break, I was getting closer to true frustration. Or if we were having a start like the Dodgers, I'd probably be freaking out.

As it stands, I kinda just enjoy the day to day watching of baseball but the emotions/nerves don't ramp up for me until the postseason (at which point, they ramp up to insane-person levels, which is kind of startling after being on cruise control all year).

For sure, its been incredibly less live or die since winning the WS, but it had already been trending that way for years. But it also helps that I don't treat the game threads like a stream of consciousness. I still have irrationally pessimistic thoughts go through my head sometimes I just...deal with them better.

Edit: But I'll admit they still creep out sometimes. And Sofa is there waiting to pounce when they do

aha...because I have no life I found it.

it was at the end of last night's game thread, it wasn't like i was digging through hidden files or anything. The Cubs are in first place and you're easily the most pathetic member of the stupid woe is us club. im just cutting the head off the snake.

I wasn’t even THAT emotionally invested in the playoffs last year. I’ve gotten a little more frustrated this year but even then, the season is so long it hasn’t gotten that strong. I’m also old now.
