JR really bailed out George Hill from getting blamed for this. Hill looked terrified to take those free throws. I think Lebron will still single-handedly pull out a game, but he needed this to have a chance to make it a series. I'm not sure what else he can do.

Maybe Draymond Green will get hit by a bus and that'll help his chances and make everyone happy all at the same time.

Since Anthony Davis already got one on his own, if LeBron is as great as his rep, he better get at least one.

I know if he doesn’t you’ll be here to breathlessly tell us how Jordan would’ve swept the series and Scottie Pippen is really just Brad Lohaus with better teeth.

It’s ok that your idol is 2nd or lower, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t great. It’ll be ok

I enjoyed JR claiming that he knew the game was tied after the game when there’s video of him right after the incident saying he thought they were ahead.

And then LeBron saying he didn’t talk to him about the play. Why not just own it if you’re JR?

I just wish someone would have asked him why he didn't call a TO, so we would have gotten Clark Griswolds look when he forgot the chain saw.

You're right. Anthony Davis didn't get one from them, without a single teammate as good as Kevin Love. LeBron is so good I don't care what PER says. Or his finals record. Or the opinion of the guys that played with them both.

There go hang on Zeke's words. He always made great choices. Ask the Knicks or the CBA.

And the Pippen thing is hilarious. So Jordan isn't as good as LeBron because the league is tougher now. But, Pippen was way better than Wade because the league is way worse now? If only there was a stat they had that rated the players efficiency. Oh wait there is? and it has Pippen way behind Wade and Love? Oh horsefeathers and it also has Jordan in front of LeBron? Well the hell with that then. It clearly doesn't state what you want, your eyes know better.

Man, he WISHES he had been this amazing:

Jordan wishes he could have went for 8 in a Finals game.

have the cubs ever had a loss as painful as that? considering the imminent threat of lebron leaving, i can't imagine how bad it must feel for fans of that team

are they delusional enough to have hope of winning this series?

yeah, they could've won that game, but come on. if it were baseball where either team can realistically win any series, that would've been way more heartbreaking, i agree, but it's the nba.

that being the case, 2003 nlcs g6 and g7 losses were both way more painful to anyone with any grasp on reality.

For as much as 2003 NLCS game 6 and 7 sucked. NLCS game 1 is right up there too. Cubs sweep the NLCS then if you assume the next 3 games(two of which were blowouts remain Cub victories)

Maybe in hindsight, but in the moment, the game where Sammy hit a bottom of the 9th, 2 out game-tying 2-run homer wasn't painful. In a vacuum, probably the most exciting single moment of my pre-2016 Cubs fandom (maybe second behind Rondon's K to end the 2015 NLDS).

even if they're destined to lose this series and lebron, it still would have been an awesome memory to see him drop 50 and steal the first game. i doubt their heavy underdog status makes it much less painful.

And someone explain me to me BR's approach to PER, Win Shares, VORP and box minutes. To a dunce like me, these all seem like cumulative value stats; how do they relate to each other? How reliable are they?

awesome memory, i suppose I agree...although i'm not sure how much that's worth years later after losing the series...especially given that they actually won one a couple years ago.

worse than the cubs blowing two shots at going to the world series for the first time in almost 60 years when they actually had a legitimate chance to win it (for the first time in almost 100)? eh.

How anyone can actually sit here and say Michael Jordan was better at basketball than Lebron James blows my mind. Lebron is the best and most complete athlete to play any sport I've ever had the pleasure to watch.

Those are two separate things, though

BR has pages for those stats...
