I know the Wild Card games haven't even been played yet but I didn't see a better place to put this. Looks like Joe showed Tito how to hit the bottle during the World Series last year because the Indians are starting Bauer in Game 1, Kluber in Game 2 and Carrasco in Game 3. Why?

"I think on a number of reasons it makes good sense," Francona said Tuesday as the Indians awaited the winner of the Twins-Yankees wild-card game. "Not that you go into a game thinking you're going to lose, but if you do, you have your ace coming back. The biggest thing was keeping him on his 5-day (schedule). That was really important to Kluber. That was really the only way we could do it.

"Again, you don't want to put the cart ahead of the horse, but if you're fortunate enough to win in four, you have your ace ready for the next series."

So this removes the option of Kluber and Carrasco starting 4 times in the series. He also says it's to keep Kluber on regular rest since he'd have five days off between Games 1 and 5. However, Kluber pitched on the 30th which means he'll get an extra day off before Game 1 so Francona isn't keeping him on his normal schedule.

Just seems like a case of the manager trying to get too cute with the rotation.

Game 7 got him shook.

Tito is setting himself up for the Yankees to knock Bauer around in Game 1 then steal Game 3, and all of a sudden he's relying on Josh Tomlin to keep them alive in Game 4.

when the doyers don't make the world series again do we start comparing them to the early 90s buffalo bills or what?

The 90's Bills went to 4 Super Bowls. Maybe a better comparison would be the early 90's Pirates who went to 3 straight NLCS and lost them all.

The 90s Braves were the 90s Bills until they won in 95. I'm a dumb diehard Bills fan, last year's World Series has allowed me to enjoy all sports so much more than ever before.

Through 2.67 games, teams are averaging 7.5 runs per game so far.

And the totals on gambling sites have been hilariously low. All 3 have hit the over with plenty of time to spare.

It is a stupid thing to get mad about, but I really hate the guy with the choking sign that sits behind righty batters at CLE. He was there last year in the same spot with a 1908 sign during the World Series.
