Probably should have ponied up for this guy

It was impossible for us to get him

Thought they said we claimed him but couldn't agree on the return

The Cardinals claimed him and got him so how could he ever of gotten to us?

This is a good sign. In the last 3 regular seasons, the Cubs are 0-3 in games to clinch a playoff spot. In those playoffs however they are 5-1 in games to clinch a series.

Cards traded for him from Philly

First he was put on revocable waivers, we claimed him, couldn't agree to terms reportedly offering "marginal value", they put him on irrevocable waivers, Philly claimed him and traded him

If you skip him in the last start of the season then Arrieta would have 8 days rest on Game 1, 9 on Game 2, 11 on Game 3, and 12 on Game 4.

Pretty much what I'm thinking too, don't start him the rest of the year and just get the necessary side work/rehab done and start him in one of the DS games

Blame Schwarber Fan

Yep, I started a thread entitled "The Clinch Game" and then mine was chosen as the game thread when there was still time to choose between two. Blame me!

you compounded the mistake of not having a thread up promptly enough by making a second thread after someone had already taken the reins. jinx city.

Geez, if Wilson wasn't going to have even 2 batters, why go to him at all?

And why go to him ever again?

Because they're hoping he rediscovers how good he was with Detroit. That guy is a weapon in this bullpen.

He's a weapon out there in that other, actually useful relievers might trip over him and hurt themselves.
