So the streak ended. I wasn't really paying close attention to today's game since my wife had a baby today, so I decided I get to start the next game thread because reasons.

 

The magic number still went down because other teams can also lose. Now the Cubs head to Wrigley North to take the wind out of the sails of the Brewers and their magic pitching.

 

First up, your major league wins leader (no, really), Zack Davies.

 

The Cubs counter with a god among men, Jake Arrieta, last seen giving free hope to the Pirates at a time where they needed it the most, the good man that he is.

 

Some may be prone to panic now that the Cubs lost a game and the Brewers and Cardinals still haven't gone away yet. To those people, I say take a seat, relax, and

FYI, the Cardinals have to lose 3 times in the next 4 days as well to clinch on Sunday

Honestly, ending the Brewer's division (and really, season) hopes at Miller on Sunday, and then 24 hours later doing the same thing to the Cardinals, while celebrating the division at that hellhole in front of a 'sell-out' of 22,000 people would be even better.
