how's westbrook only a 5 grade for pass?

also, i think you meant band?

Gang...band...you get the point

yes but i was already going to make a pointless post about westbook's 5 grade NBA Jam rating so I figured why the hell not throw that in while I'm at it.

Heyward is going to Boston. Probably realized he had no chance of making the finals with Utah with every star outside of LeBron/Kyrie/Giannis playing in the West.

if that was his concern, he wouldn't be in boston either

You don't think Boston can/will compete in the next 5 years? Better chance there than in Utah and its not even close.

Boston needs one more top player to get there, and will have both draft chances (Brown/Tatum/Brooklyn pick/Lakers or Kings pick) and trade possibilities to get there. Those are pretty good odds.

Are they trading those for LeBron?

No, but I don't think he has a stranglehold over the conference over the course of Hayward's contract either. Cleveland is almost out of reasonable ways to improve, and that team is going to slowly even if imperceptibly decline year after year. They'll almost certainly always be better than any of the EC teams from last year, but if Boston adds Hayward and another star, they'll be better than in Cleveland in a year or two.

And of course, that is if the rumors that LeBron wants to go to LA turn out not to be true.

Do you know how I know I know very little about the NBA?

Before yesterday I had never heard of Gordon Hayward.

Geez, he's not exactly a household name for casual fans but he's been on the radar since the first NCAA title game run at Butler and took the most famous missed halfcourt shot in basketball history

I wanted that shot to go in if nothing else because it would have exposed Coach K's idiot decision on the preceding foul shot.

It's basically the product of thinking college sports are terrible and boring and watching as little of them (except when I bet on them) as possible for someone who watches lots of sports.

I don't watch minor league baseball, why do it with basketball and football?

i can't stand college sports either, but that was a very largely hyped game with a fun david vs goliath matchup. that would have been one of the craziest moments in sports history if it had gone in.

I like the trade for both teams. The Celtics get way better and are the East Favorites now, get out of having to commit big money to Mini Me in the offseason (a contract they'd likely regret) and have 2 superstars now in Heyward and Kyrie to recruit another guy down the road and the Cavs get enough pieces to still be the near best team in the East plus a pick for a guy who by all accounts they couldn't have on the roster with Lebron anymore along with being able to let it blow up after the year by letting Thomas and LBJ walk and get the BKN to kick start it. I like the deal for both. Cleveland can still compete this year. If Lebron is really walking after this year they can let Thomas go too and at least have a high draft pick to start the rebuild.

Bonkers trade either way.

I think LeBron staying after this year would shock the world. Cleveland is (or should) be making moves assuming he's gone
