can't see what package we could put together at this point without dealing an MLBer

but billy beane has done some weird horsefeathers so who knows

If any team could make it work, it'd probably be Oakland with their penchant for guys who don't necessarily have super high ceilings, although I agree it would probably require either Almora or Happ.

I could see him loving Zagunis

Happ, Zagunis, Candelario and Clifton?

I'm horrible at these things so feel free to mock me.

i'd be willing to give up almora + whatever hipster prospects he wants out of our minors, but that's about it.

maybe montgomery but i tend to be in the school of liking montgomery as a starter and having questions about gray's health that you mentioned.

so, in other words, if it were me, we're probably not getting sonny gray. but it's beane so who knows.

every time we trade with oakland im like wow we gave up nothing

so who knows

it's funny I feel the same way considering we gave up what ended up being a future perennial mvp candidate for harden

I love seeing we're still after Gray, and its Beane, so who knows what he's looking for?

My complete guess is we're sniffing here, but unless we're able to get him for spare parts, our goal is to drive up prices for others.....

Anyone in the minors is available, plus Monty, Almora, Caratini, and Butler.....

Don't think we'd include Schwarber, Happ, Javy, or Russell here.

Don't know that we'd need to either, with Billy....

Monty, Almora, and Caratini seems like a package he could actually bite on.

But, Candelario, Zagunis, Alzolay, Hatch, kids like Albertos, Ademan, Amaya.....

Yeah, Theo's getting Gray too.

Yeah, I've never understood the hype with Gray. I've never been interested in giving up a lot for him. Certainly not Happ.

Super weird I don't remember the details of a trade from nine years ago.

Did you know the Cubs once just gave away Josh Hamilton to the Reds for cash?

That trade was horsefeathering amazing. Only the Nomar trade was more exciting for the Cubs in recent history.
