Kyle's velo still down?

According to Yankees broadcast, yes. Way down. Back to 84-85.

I have a question some one here might be able to help me with. Where do the TV broadcasts get velo readings from? Are they using the Statcast data? If so, that would explain Kyle being back "down," since I am near certain Wrigley's Trackman isn't calibrated properly.

Statcast is very cool for tracking stuff they could never track before, since any inadequacies or inefficiencies are kind of moot since you didn't even have any of the info before, but with something that worked fine like radar gun readings on pitchers (and with everyone used to the scaling from the way it was already measured), I'm really not sure why they're horsefeathering around with it for pitch speeds. I'm fairly certain they use Statcast and don't have their own guns, I think it saw that somewhere on here or twitter.

Figured. Pineda's down, too.

Wrigley's numbers suck and we just can't look at them.

So... the reason the Brooks Baseball guys and others are the most pissed is because they had this Statcast data for pitch velocity last year, but didn't release it. They still only released PITCHf/x, which worked and had been going strong for a decade. So if they just would have released it, or even looked at it themselves, it would have been easy to see these problems and fix them before they shut down PITCHf/x. Instead, they made the change and didn't even tell anyone.

I've never actually seen Judge do an interview, so I like to imagine he just answers every question with "My Name is Judge" until that person goes away.

He's actually pretty humble and not just a barbarian

Random but it is a little amusing that we made 2 trades with the Yankees over the last 2 years and currently every single one of those players on both side of each trade are in the Yankees organization except Brendan Ryan who was released by the Cubs before ever playing a game for us.
