Guessing Heyward is coming back tomorrow and they decided Candy was going to go down, so they did it a day early for an extra pitcher?

Or just sending Candy back down after a 2 hit game to preserve his trade value

Candelario was sent down as soon as Zobrist proclaimed his back being OK. Joe sounded like Heyward may need a rehab assignment, I wouldn't expect him tomorrow.

Every first round or sandwich pick made by Theo (besides Paul Blackburn who was traded to Seattle) is currently on the big league roster.

Even Blackburn is just 23, in AAA, and on Oakland's 40 man. He's a good bet to see the majors at some point.

The Matt Garza trade (the first one) lives on.

Rosscup called up from AAA, Floro back down, 40 man move pending.

Cubs DFA'd Jake Buchanan to make room for Rosscup.

Farewell, Jake Buchanan. Enjoy your WS ring.

The Reds announced that they’ve claimed right-hander Jake Buchanan off waivers from the Cubs and designated minor league outfielder Peter O’Brien for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. Buchanan, it seems, will be added to the Major League roster, as Cincinnati also announced that left-hander Amir Garrett has been placed on the 10-day disabled list due to inflammation in his right hip.

cubs are adding seth frankoff, which seems like a name specifically designed for punning around.

Brett Anderson to the 60-day DL. That was frankoffin' predictable.

Move makes room for Frankoff to join the 40-man roster.

My stomach actually dropped, when I saw the tweet. Even knowing this was coming. Oh well, he'll get his horsefeathers together and mash again soon enough.

OTOH, I am very excited to see Zagunis. Who may make things extremely interesting once Schwarber is ready again.
