Just had the thought 'oh yeah, we had a reliever hit a home run in a close playoff game' like that's not something that should have been burned in my brain forever.

there's so many of those in that playoff run too

I love how much Javy dominates these highlights. I honestly can't imagine a more likable team.

javy basically was the giants series

This is probably a little weird, but the Travis Wood HR carries extra significance for me. Before the 2015 Wild Card game I unequivocally would have chosen Kerry Wood's Game 7 NLCS HR as my favorite sports play of all time. I would go back and watch it and imagine how awesome it would be to be there at that moment. I would get goosebumps thinking about how I now have season tickets and if a moment like that were to happen again I would be there.

Travis Wood's HR may not have been quite as important, but soon after he finished trotting around the bases I stood in the stands struck by how awesome it was that I just watched a Cubs pitcher with the last name of Wood hit a HR in a playoff game to very near the same spot. Man this year was fun.

This thread combined with the weird warm weather and The Show being right around the corner and the ST clips are all kinda driving me baseball-crazy right now.

And then went oppo off Kluber in game 7 which, given that we actually won, it's so great we ended up winning by one run because depending on how I'm feeling I can point to like 12 different guys to be like 'they won the World Series for the Cubs'

Nah; I had a lingering credit with GameStop, so I've got it reserved there. Hopefully the last time I get anything from them.

But yeah, 2014 was the last time I got it.

Crap, just realized I inadvertently skipped the Lester squeeze walkoff because I initially had it combined with another momenr.. I'll go back and sneak it back into the other moment.

If you're an Amazon Prime member, it will be $47.99 (instead of the regular price of $59.99) for up to 2 weeks after it releases. That's the case (20% off) for any new games.

I had last year's and it was terrific. For people that haven't played in a few years, you'll be blown away by how it looks and plays on PS4.

And it looks even better this year:

#52: Almora Saves 9th Inning of Game 3

Why on the list? - Almora had come in for Heyward in the late innings of game 3, and in the 8th inning he just missed a Gillaspie shot into no-mans (except Heyward, see earlier) land that commentators noted Heyward may have saved. But that wasn't really on Almora, and he showed everyone he's a defensive wizard also as he dove to rob Posey, and easily double up Belt to send the game improbably to extra innings after the Giants had seemingly deflated the Cubs in the 8th.

#51: All Zobrist Does is Hit Clutch Doubles

Why on the list? - Fun fact, when you search Youtube for "Zobrist clutch playoff double", this one is like 5th on the list. However, after a leadoff single by Bryant against Derek Law, and then a Javier Lopez walk to Rizzo, the Giants went to a 3rd pitcher for the 9th against Zobrist in prior playoff hero Sergio Romo, and he fared even worse, as Zobrist lined a double into the corner to score Bryant to cut the lead to 5-3 and put runners on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. And that was only the beginning...

#50: Contreras Comes Up Big to Tie Game

Why on the list? - Continuing after the Zobrist AB, the Cubs decided to PH for Addison Russell (who had been miserable all series) with Chris Coghlan. The Giants, who had already not gotten an out with 3 pitchers, decided a 4th pitches was in order, and so brought in Will Smith to face Coghlan. One wonders if Maddon faked Coghlan to get a lefty in the game, because he immediately switched out Coghlan for Contreras, a much better hitter, who promptly hit a hanging curveball back up the middle to score Rizzo and Zobrist and tie a game that the Giants seemingly had complete control of for 8 innings with Matt Moore.

He did. Yet another one that makes me laugh hysterically at Cards fans going all "WELL MADDON'S A TERRIBLE TACTICIAN TOO!11!!"

#51: All Zobrist Does is Hit Clutch Doubles

One of my 5 favorite hits of the postseason. This hit made the game go from 'fake rally' to "holy horsefeathers its going to happen'. You can even tell by the crowd. They seem mostly relaxed until that hit and then all the sudden the crowd just dies. Awesome moment.

Had to listen to this on the radio because of work and it's a wonder I didn't crash my car with all the yelling and fist-pumping I was doing.
