They are going to bring him out during opening ceremonies of the convention like that year Wood came back.

And then they'll bring Machado out during the closing ceremonies?

I would let KB announce the Harper signing at the Convention. And then have Harper announce the Machado signing a little later in the day. But that's just me. I'm crazy like that.

That must be why Rizzo isn’t going. Too jealous of watching the KB and Harper bromance

Not our fault he doesn’t have any friends that are good baseball players.

I can think of one guy, look at how he embraces the tiny face. That’s true bromance

how are we following up that end to the season with this offseason? are the cubs really going to get nobody AND keep russell?

Nobody? We signed Daniel Decalso. How quick some people forget. [-X

The longer this drags out and the longer we make no moves of substance it makes me think we are more in on Bryce than is known. I think we have the moves/trades lined up to sign him if he tells us he wants to come/accepts our offer, but we aren’t going to make those moves if he doesn’t come because we need Heyward, Zobrist Happ, whoever it takes to move $$ etc. to win this year without Bryce and we don’t have the room to sign Bryce and do any of the reliever moves that have been done (Miller, Britton, etc) so that’s why we’ve done nothing essentially since we need to wait on Bryce. I also still think Descalso was brought in as some insurance in case Zobrist, Happ, Bote go in a trade to clear room for Bryce and if it doesn’t happen he’s overqualified for the LaStella role which is fine.

yeah, i mean to me, intuitively speaking, there's no way we are so cash strapped that we can do literally nothing. we must be in a holding pattern for harper (or possibly machado).

Surely this it.....Surely.

Or both! Since that would most fall in line with this creative talk Epstein was giving early in the offseason....It doesn’t take a whole lot of creativity to get Harper on the Cubs. Getting Machado as the still needed impact RH bat, who also happens to easily knock the humiliation that is Russell off the roster, would require going above and beyond.

Or both!

Christ this is Marcus Stroman all over again. We get it, you want both players. You don't need to remind everyone in every post you make. Things we also know about you that you don't need to repeat:

You want Craig Kimbrel

You praise Jah

PRE-INJURY PITCHERS

Weirdly obscure minor leaguers other teams sign that you lament over for some reason

And a Jets fan for some reason

Lol holy horsefeathers, you’re all bored and angry so have at it. I was most annoyed some loser who keeps talking ‘bout them contracts being too damn high only ever responds to my posts in the least human ways possible. I’m super nice amd given the context clearly go out of my way to stay that way here. I can eat horsefeathers and willingly do so in exchange to talk baseball sometimes movies/TV and other sports, but yeah basically horsefeathers that guy

Ever since he inexplicably tried to simultaniously argue both that the Cubs broke Heyward and that pre-Cubs Heyward is the same as Cubs' Heyward, he's been in a mood.

Someone give me odds on whether or not he's talking about someone who actually exists outside of his head.

it's so unfortunate that i went to all the trouble of speaking to you in that thread and yet you still failed completely at reading comprehension

This is exactly what’s going on. Why would the Cubs trade away assets w/o knowing Bryce would sign?
