IF it’s truthful I feel like that eliminates every team that isn’t the Cubs, Yankees and Nationals. Nationals because if there was a deal in place with dollars etc it would have to be the Nationals. Yankees because the interview was on YES network (not strong evidence but enough that I can’t eliminate them). Cubs because of the KB connection and all the signs/reports that point toward Chicago.

I view the Dodgers as having a strong chance at Harper too.

I have to wonder if this is fake news. I can't believe that Harper and Boras are going to make a choice without hearing all of the offers. Harper said he wants to get a record contract, so it's hard to believe he may be leaving $50 million on the table because he's friends with KB.

Or Theo on tilt offseason gave him a blank check. But yeah you’re probably right and this was joking/trolling.

The assumption seems to be Boras was joking. Even if Bryce knows where he wants to go, it would be unwise to not milk things for more money.

Yeah it sounds like he's horsefeathering with some dumb radio guy, like Bryce Harper wants to personally tell a radio guy what team he's signing with.

It horsefeathering drives me up the wall that people actually use the term fake news, and also don't horsefeathering understand what it even horsefeathering means.

Sorry. Continue everyone.

I believe all players that are eligible are officially free agents start of business tomorrow (assuming the score holds)

The Harper friend wouldn't let us use his name, but was adamant in text messages that Boras was just having some fun with Kay.

"Have you ever known a Scott Boras client to wait six years and not go on market?" Harper's friend responded. "He's teasing Michael Kay. He's playing.

"There's no deal in place. I promise. I would know."

Harper's friend, by the way, also told NJ Advance Media that he thinks Harper prefers to return to the Nationals but predicts he'll sign with the Chicago Cubs or Dodgers unless the Philadelphia Phillies offer a lot more than everyone elseand also sign shortstop Manny Machado, the other superstar position player in this off-season's free agent market. He considers the Yankees a long shot and believes the Atlanta Braves could be the sleeper team to work out a deal.

Hmm that changed

Yeah I think they swapped us with the Phillies from the last time they had odds out. horsefeathers them, they aren’t getting him and their owner/GM basically said as much at the end of the year that after the disappointing year they had they had to re-evaluate where they were at in terms of adding to the roster with big FA’s because they weren’t as far along as they’d though they’d be.

Is his friend Jon Heyman? Because those are some Heyman logic lines, “these two teams are the favorite favorite but other things could happen” “don’t rule out this team if x, y, z happens he could go there” “this team is a long shot but don’t rule them out”, etc

I don't necessarily believe this tweet but if it were true I'd be so disappointed if we weren't even in this

Edit: Oh wait nightingale...this is good news!

Unless they're giving him a ton more money than everyone else I don't think he'll consider the Giants at all. They aren't in a spot to win anytime soon and that stadium kills offensive numbers.

I don't mind him going to one of those 3 teams because we have heyward and they are basically twins so why would we want both?

Giants don't make any sense either. Hunter Pence has 29.7 career WAR to Harper's 27.4 and they can re-sign him for a fraction of the cost.
