I knew this group was going to win it all at some point, but I'm glad we got it over with now. Glad we don't have the anxiously watching our window closing wondering if it's going to happen.

+1

Hopefully it opens things up a lot going forward. Joe & some players talking about the pressure of playing at home in this series. Started worrying me that rather than learning and building on the experience, it might just weigh on the guys more and more as the years wore on.

But we don't have to worry about that any more! GO CUBS! :yahoo:

This team, man. A complete team effort. There were so many guys that stepped up tonight. So many that I'm not even going to bother listing them all. They all worked together all year. They did so in getting back into this series. And then they all worked together to win that game. What a squad. They dominated all year. And then come playoff time, they showed they could battle back through adversity, despite not facing any pretty much all year. They are an unbelievable group of guys.

Amazing team filled with a bunch of great dudes (except Chapman). So happy for them, for us, and for Chicago. Best cry I've had in a long time.

All year man. It's great that it's hard to even pick an MVP of this team. Bryant and Rizzo will be top 3-5 for NL MVP. Had co-NLCS MVPs, which could have easily also gone to Hendricks, Rizzo, Fowler or Russell. Zobrist gets WS MVP, which could have also gone to Rizzo, Bryant (2 big HRs), Arrieta or Lester (2 W each), and then you have Russell with a team-leading 8 RBIs in this series, and the inspirational story of Kyle Schwarber who somehow "quietly" went 7-17 after nearly 7 months off.

Seriously though, Tim, you are the best.

Seconded. I love this place. And I love you guys. And I am so happy that we get to celebrate this together on here. Thanks a million, Tim.

It still hasn't fully sunk in. I'm still waiting for us to blow it somehow.

Holy horsefeathers.

From the Game 4 thread postgame:

Winning game 7 is going to be fun.

I just made the trip to the future in my time machine, and all I'm allowed to say without causing all kinds of trouble is: You're not wrong.

Also: Having an NFL team in London turns out to be a horrible idea. But you probably guessed that already.

I can't wait to see how you guys react when what happens tonight, happens.

I mean, I've already read your future posts. But can't wait for it to happen for you all in real time, and then actually have that conversation. 8-)

See, totally fun!
