I'm supposed to be working today but can't do anything but read this board and deal with nerves so I've already told my boss I'm leaving early. And of course I had to wear a blue suit, white shirt and red & blue tie today. Go Cubs! Win this horsefeathers for Fred!

Cubs, please open up a nice 3 run lead early. My body simply can't take 9 innings of a close ball game.

Smoltz said his prediction for game 7 was extra innings, and my immediate reaction was to want to barf. Noooooooooooo thanks.

Please no. I have a 7th Circuit argument tomorrow morning, and I'm already going to be tired enough.

Too late for a continuance? I bet at least one of the judges would say, "Oh thank God."

Am i rationalizing if I say that it seems like the Cubs have actually made some solid contact against Miller, they were just right at people?

I think that too. He doesn't scare me as much as Allen, we just haven't found the gaps on those drives

One more RD blowout Win for this Cubs team please!!!!

My apologies - what does RD stand for? After seeing it in other posts, I don't think it means what I thought it meant.

Run Differential.

Do you guys know what the deal is with the wrigley bars tonight?

Cover charges still? On one hand, it's a road game...on the other, it's horsefeathering game 7

Wait, so Fred never got to start a game thread?

Yes, he started games 2 & 3.

BTW, how break-proof is the board tonight? You back home now?

still on the road

I thought someone said a page or 2 back that there were $100 covers

eh, it was in the "who's going to Wrigley" thread

Every bar in Wrigleyville is charging a $100 cover tonight. Just a heads up for those that are venturing out there and for those of us that don't like carrying cash.

I'm sure there will be some cover charge immediately around the stadium, but probably not what they were charging this past weekend.

You could always go to sheffields and than just walk down the street if you want to get towards the stadium.

Road?

Run differential.

The Cubs this season scored a lot more runs than their opponents, and we led the league in that run differential. So when we have a blowout game, it's been referred to as an RD game.

I went to the Crossing on Southport one night, and it had a horsefeathering fantastic atmosphere. about a mile from the ballpark.

What was Kluber's worst starts of the year? When was the most recent time he was blown up? Is he due to get rocked?

Edit: That July 3rd start is interesting, it's my birthday first of all, he gave up 5 ER to the Blue Jays in 3.1 and the Indians lost 17-1 Kluber fell to 8-8 then went 10-1 to end the year. He's due for a beat down.

Those of us who remember '84 know what it's like to feel confident about a starter on a second-half roll taking the mound in a series-deciding game, only to see it turned upside-down. Toss in the short rest, Kluber is definitely vincible. Same with their pen. It's baseball.

Would anybody else feel a little more comfortable with Grampa Ross behind the plate? He's actually been better at the plate throughout the post season, and if anyone can keep Kyle at his best, it's him. It goes back to the old better chance of X helping us with the glove than Y helping us with the bat. And we'd still have Contreras' bat on the bench.

Yup. I wanted that last night, too. Same reasons.

Anyone have any idea how early you'd need to get there?

Yeah, they're just as terrible as every other night.

Man I didnt sleep for crap last night...at least being on the west coast the game starts at 5..Have to get ahead early or by inning 5 it may be lights out...If we do get beat please do not let it be by some error or by shutout ....last thing I want is some documentary in 5 years about some fluke play...we killed a curse and released Bartman from purgatory this year lets finally end this thing on a good note and win

I would like the Cubs to win tonight and have Bartman throw the first pitch Opening Day at Wrigley next season.

With a ball that would have been sprinkled in holy water, though.

I know it sounds crazy but I'm glad this game is in Cleveland tonight. The pressure of playing in front of the Wrigley fans in a game 7 would be smothering in my opinion. The Cubs just seem more relaxed on the road this post season overall, at least hitting wise. All the Wrigley fans, who are awesome, can be a bit overwhelming in a pressure packed situation.

We're due for a gapper on him. If not that, a routine fly right between Naquin and Chisenhall has a surprisingly good chance of doing damage.

I read that they didn't have a cover this past weekend. We tried to go but there was a crazy line by the time we got there and then went to the Crossing on southport.
