I don't give a horsefeathers if Torres ends up becoming Alex Rodriguez. This is horsefeathering awesome.

Torres likely wont stick at SS, no elite tools & Eloy is better.

I haven't been following the board because I had people in town, so I don't know if it got bad around here. But let's horsefeathersing go, if anyone is going to pull this off it's this team.

I mean you can see the path to victory. Tomlin shut us down but on short rest. Even if Jake isn't at his best I still feel pretty good about chances of winning that one. Then we get our 3rd look at Kluber, with his 3rd start in 9 days against a well rested ERA leader in Hendricks.

I want the Cubs to grind out the AB's and force high pitch counts - just like they did all year. Make Tomlin work. They've been way too aggressive and a ton of strikeouts (13 tonight I think)

I don't feel like Tomlin is as bad as you guys think he is- don't get me wrong, the Cubs lineup shouldn't get completely shut down by him, but he has been really, really good for 2 months now.

yeah, he looked exactly like hendricks in that start against us. He was amazing. I think we can get to him though on such short rest. I hope.

Well I don't think any Cleveland pitcher including Kluber in game 4, Miller or Allen have been as good as you guys probably think they are. They've had a ton of help from the Cubs.

Honestly it's not about how Cleveland pitchers anymore. If the Cubs hit like they are capable of they can win. If the Cubs keep flailing at pitches outside the strike zone then they can lose to anyone.

The problem is that Tomlin is a strike thrower. He's not going to walk anyone so eventually we are going to have to hit him.

I think Miller and Allen can go 4 innings or possibly more I game 6 if they have to. They will treat Tuesday like a game 7

You're also getting a bunch of people who just survived elimitation and are hoping to get to a game 7. (Then game 1st Wrigley World Series game in 71 years.)

Of course people are getting pumped thinking we can beat Tomlin. Both pitchers can shut the other team down and both teams can hit the pitchers. We are aware Tomlin has been good and is capable of beating us.

I hate giving up the IF defense, but I would seriously consider benching Javy in game six. These breaking ball pitchers are just making him look like a joke.

The other side is that neither Coghlan or Soler are inspiring a ton of confidence that they're going to knock the ball around, and they're not good defenders. I can see the argument, but considering that it only takes one pitch for Javy to run into one to justify his inclusion twice over, I bet he'll stick around. Plus, Tomlin is as okay a RHP matchup as he'll get, low velocity fastball and a curve instead of a slider.

We went into Game 3 against Tomlin assuming that he was going to throw strikes. So we wanted to attack early. But a lot of what we swung at were pitcher's pitches.

I think we need to get back to doing what we do best -- wait for a pitch that you can hit hard. If he can paint the outside corner, let him. But we aren't doing anything with that pitch, so why swing at it?

I don't think anyone outside of Kluber, Miller, or Allen are all that great. I just don't think it's a foregone conclusion that the Cubs should blow up Tomlin. I'd agree if you were talking about Bauer, though. Tomlin has a .809 WHIP over his last 42 IP, including the playoffs. His August was absolutely atrocious, but he pitched pretty well against both Toronto and Boston too.

Again, I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs hit him well, and I don't deny that the Cubs have pressed, but the "we beat ourselves" narrative is always annoying.

"Will you be available game 7?"

Lester: I'll be available game 6.

The Cubs was my main sweat, but I was in first place in a very large draftkings tourney going into the SNF game and was peaking to make sure Elliott wasn't doing anything good. The Chapman strikeout to end the 8th was immediately before I see Elliott ending a 60 yard run...but HOLDING! CUBS WIN!!! ...wait, overtime!? No...just kick a field..NO! Not a dumpoff to Elliott! 2nd place will do I suppose...

Too crazy.
