Such a site.

As in "Wrigley Field is such a site for a ball game?"

Or "that's a beautiful sight?"

Dammit lol. Sight.

It's a shame the guy we're going against doesn't allow fly balls to be hit very far. Oh wait, that's not right.

That's right. It's our pitcher who is good at that. It'd also be a shame if the guy on the other team has relied on getting flyouts on balls hit at least 300 feet -- you know, the kind that might fly out of the park instead in that kind of wind.

Oh, he's gotten a ton of outs that way. And our guy hasn't needed them.

Don't those stats say Tomlin has a higher % of groundball outs than Kyle? Unless I ran it incorrectly.

Napoli. Ramirez. Santana. Lindor.

Not to be pedantic, but in all likelihood it's one of Napoli and Santana in any given non-DH game, not both. Possibly the same for the Cubs re Schwarber, but on paper you're taking away relatively more of their standard firepower.

Apparently Santana was taking flyballs in LF the past 2 days in Cleveland they are thinking of playing him out there.

Don't underestimate the wind impact on defense for a team that never plays in Wrigley

Goes both ways

What is this in reference to?

Sorry that in response to "yeah i'm just terrified of some pop up becoming a basket shot in the inning that a couple of guys happen to get on with two outs on some stupid swinging bunt or something"

I had it typed out and was gonna post it immediately after but then I got distracted by work and posted it and by then a bunch of other posts had happened in between. I'll just quote next time!

Isn't this just a function of a higher percentage of his total outs occuring in the field, overall?

I think so. He doesn't strike anyone out and like every other fly ball is a homer. So by default, more of his outs are gonna be grounders.

Haha I'm reading comments from an Indians blog, and someone said that the wind would be blowing in 20-30 mph on Friday, which got everyone else excited about how that helps Tomlin. Should we tell them or let the dongs tell them?
Posted
They also seem to be convinced that if the Cubs lose Game 3 that we will bring Lester back on short rest for Game 4. I really really doubt that and I think they trust Lackey enough to hand him the ball and hope Kluber is less sharp and effective.

gotcha. I assumed it was practice time or something. stupid vue not having mlbn!

I generally enjoy MLBN, but man, they have a wide variety of quality with the studio experts that network.

there's plenty of dumb there, but I really miss having a place that just has baseball stuff. I've had to piece together random clips and whatnot from the interwebs like a savage instead of just having a constant flow of highlights to watch

If it's LetsGoTribe, then someone already corrected them. Not before the guy excitedly commented about the wind blowing in several times though.

They had Lackey start down 2-1 in LA. He's going to start if we are down 2-1 at home. He'll just have a short leash with Monty ready to go. Simple as that. We are gonna be up 2-1 tho. So it doesn't matter.

Tomlins flyballs end up in the bleachers.

For most of the playoffs I've welcomed the day off just to rest up a bit. Not today though. A World Series game at Wrigley? Damn, let's get this horsefeathers started.

I'd say more likely than not, even just going off sign construction. Clearly the contemporary version was made by someone practiced in the art of building and maintaining an O-Meter. You don't learn that between games 1 & 2.
