I've decided all I want is for the Cubs to have a 3-1 lead in the series and go into the 9th inning of game 5 with a lead so big that Travis Wood, longest tenured Cub, can close it out in Wrigley and none of us (even Tim) will break a sweat

A Jon Lester complete game would be an acceptable alternative.

I'd settle for a 16 inning nail-biter where the bullpen gets exhausted and David Ross gets the World Series winning save.

Won't happen in Chicago

Unless it's a walk off

As much as I'm loving the Schwarber story, I think Kris is going to be the money player this weekend. He's gonna crack at least 3 homers.

I want a Schwarber homer to cement himself as World Series MVP so bad.

If he gets MVP, I think it's gonna be more because of the story than anything. Presuming he can't play the field in the Wrigley games, he's just not gonna get the AB's, and Zobrist has been just as good.

That's where the heroic pinch hit home run comes in. Maybe he needs to do it twice to make sure. But he's going to do it.

This whole thing still feels so surreal to me. I am a fan of many sports teams but the Cubs have always been #1, and seeing the Cubs in a World Series (much less winning one) has been my ultimate number 1 sports dream for as long as I can remember. When you want something and think about it so much and it actually comes true, it's kind of hard to really 'get' what is happening in the moment. Like I know the Cubs are in the World Series, I know they are 3 wins away from a title, but when I watch the games it doesn't fully click that this is what's happening, and I'm not sure it will until sometime over the winter.

I'm not sure if what I said makes any sense.

No. It makes perfect sense. I feel like I'm in a trance. We've been following them all year -- our whole lives, actually. And it just kinda crept up on us. I can see it with my own eyes. But I don't really understand it. The Cubs are in the horsefeathering World Series and Kyle Schwarber came back to join them. I don't know how to process it.
