And one more for Kluber during the Coghlan AB (the first one) and he's even while Lester is -2.

horsefeathers brooks baseball

Then go through Gameday. The ump has missed a couple but he hasn't been as bad as most here are making it seem. Kluber's dealing, he's hitting every corner and Lester hasn't been.

Man, I disagree. The zone has been different for both guys. Lesters is a lot smaller.

my point is if the calls are that close and they're getting them, we need to fight them off if we can and try to get him to throw more. I know - easier said than done, but with two strikes you protect the plate.

Cogs....You had your AB's for the series. Now go horsefeathers off

Agreed. He should have totally done something with 2 pitches that were out of the zone that he correctly took.

He's depriving us of the unintentional comedy of Heyward trying to hit Kluber's slider.

The problem is that he's missed some high leverage pitches that have had a significant impact on the game.

What is the disconnect between everyone here who hates Smoltz and all the local and national TV/radio hosts who can't praise him enough?

I don't know. Perceived bias aside, his analysis is consistently and objectively poor.

Yeah, he has bad opinions and rambles way too much

Oh look, Lester got a borderline strike. But nobody will remember that next time Kluber gets one.

Seeing what Lester did to Napoli when the zone was called correctly doesn't make me happier that he got jobbed with 2 outs before both runs scored in the first.

I don't know how many times he has talked about how a hitter "can't catch up" with a pitch after fouling it straight back or having it timed perfectly. And a million other stupid things that he should know better than.

I remember, I think that's the third low call he's gotten... which are much more often called than outside, up, and inside.

And again, it's not so much that Kluber is getting every single call (although that's bad), it's that Lester is throwing exactly the same spots and NOT getting the calls.

Because Kluber has gotten that pitch all night and Lester is just now getting it 5 innings in.

Issue:

Lester gets borderline (very close) call

Kluber gets call 4 inches outside to whiff Bryant

Same?
