Just give me a Schwarber homer tonight, please. I've never felt entitled to anything as a baseball fan before. But I need this.

I'll settle for a couple rally-helping walks and runs scored, driving Kluber out early. GO CUBS!

We're not only witnessing history on the Cubs making it to the World Series since 71 years ago. We're also witnessing history of an actual first NSBB game thread that pertains the Cubs and the World Series game.

History, man. History.....

I'm just glad Heyward is finally starting to be held accountable. The Cubs magical run has softened the blow to this point, no doubt.

But there's still no reason at all for him to escape the vitriol that Soriano and Cutler endured in this city for underperforming on a ridiculous [expletive] contract.

Is your argument we haven't been mean enough to Jason Heyward?

40-1 odds that he hits the first homer in the series. Tempted to put some money down on that.

Those odds seem ridiculously high. Prop bets are usually sucker bets because odds are rarely good. That almost seems like a mistake. I would've guessed 10-1 tops. Doubt you can still bet those odds.

On ESPN 1000, Tom Waddle just made a $100 bet on that prop.

Leading off with someone who had a .306 OBP this year just because he can maybe steal a base off Lester seems a bit...backwards?

Davis has crushed Lester over the course of their careers. Might have something to do with it.

This is some kind of amazing "guys, get a load out of what a real sloppy meatball would say" post, right?

Schwarber in the outfield?! Gamesmanship? I guess we can't discount anything at this point.

This game can't start soon enough. I went with a good steak for dinner and i'm getting pumped!

There's no valid reason to direct any vitriol at a player simply for underperformance. Especially a hard working, A+ personality like Jason Heyward.

It's preposterously childish, meatball behavior.

I don't know why but I'm much more relaxed for this game than either of the Giants/Dodgers openers. Pete Rose said the other night that the real pressure is getting to the WS, once you're there it's just fun. He played in 6 of them so if anybody knows I guess it would be him.

This is a terrible post and you should have to go sit in a corner with a dunce hat.

Like others have said. Very hard to believe, but posting in a Cubs World Series thread. Here's to a Lester gem and plenty of cubs offense.

Almost as meatbally as saying that a hard-working, A+ personality player should be exempt from all performance-related criticisms.

No but seriously, all I horsefeathering wanted to know was why he's treated differently than the other two. You guys seemingly equated me saying that he should be held accountable with the idea that I hate this player on and off the field. Way to take one thing I said and blow it completely out of proportion.

I tried to say my peace and move on, but it wasn't allowed. Reading comprehension, folks.

Just put $50 on it.

You literally used the words "no reason to escape vitriol". Maybe you you should know what a word means before criticizing others reading comprehension.

Vitriol - speech, writing, etc, displaying rancour, vituperation, or bitterness.

Not reasonable accountability or criticism, etc.

I managed to find a Cubs friendly bar in St. Louis and will be enjoying the game from that establishment. I can't wait for this thing to get rolling!

Just hit the bar after work and got my first Andygator and Jameson shot. I've been calm all day but seriously got chills when I saw the Cubs scoreboard lineup. It's real now. Let's do this!

I really think Ross at catcher vs the Indians running game is huge. And Javy, of course.
