Baez went from like my 4th favorite Cub to my favorite Cub to so much my favorite Cub that I am mad at myself that he wasn't my favorite Cub before.

It was a little over a year ago when NSBB's best and brightest we're hoping he had some shred of trade value left.

let it be known that i never gave up on javy

Highlights, series-clinching highlights here, highlights.

What's up with Pat? He seemed a lot more excited calling last years playoffs?

This is awful. You should feel shame for this. Shame. horsefeathering terrible. That's not just hindsight either. This is above and beyond bad.

Last year woke him up from a 5 year nightmare and re-energized him. This year he realizes that, no matter how awesome that was, the NLDS doesn't really mean that much.

@holdenradio Cubs manager Joe Maddon doesn't care who they play in the NLCS but states, "Washington's a shorter plane ride". #geographyfacts

I fell asleep on the couch and missed the entire top of the 8th. So, I figured I'd just go upstairs to bed and get the sleep that I so sorely missed by going to bed at 2:30 the night/morning before (waking up at 5:50, which is sleeping in 30 minutes for me).

I love that Bryant and Rizzo ran across the infield to hug each other after the final out. #bryzzo

I was wondering if anyone else caught this last night. I turned to my wife when they showed it and said "I love that they're best buds."

This team is too horsefeathers likable not to win.

Listening to those Pat Hughes highlights, I realize how much I miss Santo in the background yelling and screaming through all the big moments.

Last night would have been epic Ronny.

If the Dodgers advance, any chance we see montgomery start a game with lackey behind him or vice versa?

I had a similar thought. So many lefties in their lineup.

It's more than just that. Like, they are beyond bad vs. them.

Gonzalez will be the 47th left-hander to start against the Dodgers this season. Against the first 46, the Dodgers have batted .235 with a .662 on-base-plus-slugging percentage. That’s 20 points lower in batting average and .91 lower in OPS than they had against right-handed starters during the regular season.

The difference is even larger when relief pitchers are included. Overall, in more than 1,800 regular-season plate appearances against left-handers, the Dodgers hit .213 with a .622 OPS. The next-worst major league team, a rebuilding Philadelphia, logged a .246 batting average with a .666 OPS.

Against right-handers, the Dodgers hit .264 with a .772 OPS. The power gap was particularly pronounced. They had a .443 slugging percentage against right-handed pitching, above the overall major league average, and a .332 slugging mark against left-handers, well below average.

Both of the numbers against left-handers were the worst in the major leagues by considerable margins. Both of the numbers against right-handers were among the top five.

Consider for a moment that with all the problems the Giants pen had all year, with all the pitchers Bochy used the past 2 games, he never once used Casilla, the team's primary closer.

I believe Romo was the "official" closer as of some point in the last month of the season.

I was wondering what the market was going to be for Chapman this winter, and right about now I'm guessing the Giants are pretty interested.
