Ross is out there as a calming effect for the entire team, not just Lackey. Love me some Willy but I like this move tonight.

Especially because Willy could not stop throwing the ball around the yard last night. I know only one got away but he was being too aggressive and inaccurate.

It also gives us one hell of a bench- Soler, Contreras, Almora, Montero, Coghlan, LaStella, and of course, Mr. Jake Arrieta give us a lot of late inning options.

I guess it's possible too Contreras got a little banged up or

something behind the plate last night. Don't mind Ross catching at all though, especially vs a LHP.

Someone on Twitter last night noted that he took a knee to the head on the double play, so that could be a factor. More likely I think it's Joe optimizing for defense since with a worse SP he has more slack(plus as noted Ross has killed LHP this year anyway).

Anyone else love how postseason randomness and pressure allows them to bring out their inner meatball?

Dong these fools to oblivion with intermittent shots of Law's stupid sobbing inbred face.

What is SF's lefty lineup batting against RHP. Scares the bejesus out of me after they were knocking everything hard last night (it seemed like).

has dex hit a hr this season from the right side? I'd almost prefer he hit from the left side tonight

No idea on this years numbers but historically I know the right handed side has been his power side. Though with the swing/approach changes he made last year maybe that has changed.

4 home runs in 144 PAs from the right side (1 per 36 PAs)

9 home runs in 407 PAs from the left side (1 per 45 PAs)

876 OPS from the right side, 827 OPS from the left side.

Yea I know. But I didn't think they hit JA all that hard, it was Arrietas command that scared me more
