Holy Crap This MLB season, The Mets paid Bobby Bonilla $1,193,248. That's more than twice what they paid Noah Syndergaard $535,375

The Bonilla thing was a smart investment at the time. The Wilpons were just idiots to investment their money with Madoff

Better win the first two, because Arrieta vs either of these guys in game 3 is a pretty likely loss

Arrieta is just as capable of shutting down either of these offenses as Baumgarner or Syndergaard. Short memory dude.

i don't know about "just as" capable right now, but definitely very capable...and then they have to shut down our offense, not one of these.

For reference, Arrieta faced both teams twice:

Mets

7 IP, 1 ER

5.1 IP, 4 ER

Giants

6 IP, 2 ER

7 IP, 1 ER

I just like the fact that Jake may be coming into a game 3 with a chip on his shoulder. He'd never admit it, but you know he's pissed that he's 3rd in the rotation. I think the extra rest is going to do wonders for him and he's going to come out throwing darts.

these are some weak ass lineups

This didn't work out that well if the Mets win. I was hoping when he was at about 100 pitches that he would get out of the inning quickly so hopefully he would go another inning and throw 120+ and have arm fatigue for game 3. But Pagan extended the AB and then got that IF hit. Now he's done at 108 pitches. Oh well

Exactly, I think people underestimate how miserable the Giants offense has been this second half. The same could be said for the Mets but some how Asdrubal Cabrera has become a 1.000 OPS guy over the last month plus.

He was probably gonna be done regardless

Thor's walk rates definitely don't back this up, but I just get the sense watching him that he's the type of guy this Cubs team can wait out.

In terms of Bumgarner, in the FG live chat Cameron has mentioned repeatedly how much he has missed his spots and left a lot of hittable pitches out there. A combination of the terrible Mets lineup and the ball carrying at all. Not concerned about him (though Cueto is much better than any other pitcher the Mets have).

Yeah Bum has been quite mortal since like August. Definitely a tough ass pitcher to face but we can hit him

His control definitely dropped a level or two with men on base

Remember the last big hit vs Bumgarner in Oct? Of course you don't. He's never allowed a hit with RISP in a postseason road game (0-for-23)!

That's just sick.
